***Update 1 – 2015-01-21 – 16:08 CET***
It appears as if I were to fast on the trigger regarding the latest Konami statement about MGS6 and MGS in general. However, apparently dripfeed.news is a parody site. And with everything else fresh in mind when it comes to Konami´s past statements and scandals. I made the mistake to believe that dripfeed.news article about Konami and MGS6 were legit. Even so, my opinions about Konami won´t change. As there are plenty of “real” incidents that have taken place in the past. Once again, I’m sorry for the confusion that I might have caused you.
—————————————————–
It seems like there is no end to the Konami and Metal Gear Solid madness. In a way, it feels like Konami is just one step away from falling down into the grave which they have dug for years now. And I honestly didn´t think that Konami possibly could add any more damage to their company and name (I´m referring to how they have treated Hideo Kojima-San, and their staff as of lately). Well, I was wrong. You see. Konami has handed over the lead developer role to Ninja Theory and Tameem Antoniades (DmC: Devil May Cry, Heavenly Sword, Hellblade). Yes, that´s correct. Tameem Antoniades has replaced Hideo Kojima. And it´s just about to get even worse:
“We needed a young experienced developer who understands what’s acceptable, and what’s not in today’s society.”
“We needed someone who was willing to create a faithful adaptation to the Metal Gear Solid franchise. It was clear from their masterful performance on DmC: Devil May Cry, That Ninja Theory is the best developer for this type of project.” Ninja Theory has also told us that Metal Gear Solid 6: From Two Phantoms will take place after MGS4 with Snake being much more refined in both design and how he acts.” – Takuya Kozuki, CEO of Konami
And that´s just the half of it, because Metal Gear Solid is just about to become 100% politically correct as well, because this is what Rahni Tucker (Ninja Theory) had to say about their upcoming MGS title “Metal Gear Solid 6: From Two Phantoms”:
“No one wants this dumb shit anymore, they want characters that female gamers can relate too.” “We’re making Metal Gear Solid 6: From Two Phantoms for the players, not the gamers.”
In other words, we can say good-bye to cardboard boxes, Cyborg Ninja’s, and everything else that made MGS to MGS. As MGS6: From Two Phantoms is said to offer none of that. And with words such as “more accessible”, “for the players, not the gamers.”, “No one wants this dumb shit anymore”. It appears as if Konami is trying to cash in big time on SJWs, PC-bros and feminists in the West.
And Tameem Antoniades added the following statment:
“For all the praise we get, we do admit that DmC: Devil May Cry is by no means the perfect game.” “Our female representation was laughable, so we’ve taken this serious feedback and used it to improve ourselves as game developers.” – Tameem Antoniades, chief design Ninja Theory
So there you have it, Konami has now officially screwed their MGS fanbase over. In other words, Konami has lost everything. Hideo Kojima, Akira Yamaoka, Julien Merceron (FOX Engine Overseer), their reputation and their fans. Congratulations Konami, you have now officially gone from a hero to a zero in no time. And personally, I hope that Kojima Productions (Kojima´s new independent studio) will release a game that will outshine Ninja Theory´s MGS6. As it would (in a way) work as a payback for everything that Konami has done to their old fans, Kojima and past staff members. Well, time will tell I guess. Nevertheless, I´m done with Konami and their “business practices”. So I have no plans to pick up MGS6 on release.
With that said, what do you guys and girls think about all of this? And do you still support Konami? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
