The Mmo genre has been around for a very long time now (since the mid 80s). And nowadays there´s mmo games everywhere. But how many of them are new thinking?

Revolutionary and pushing the boundaries for the Mmo genre? Probably not that many.

dual universe

Novaquark aims to take the Mmo genre to the next level with “Dual Universe”.

But that´s exactly what the French studio Novaquark are trying to do with their sandbox Sci-fi Mmorpg game “Dual Universe” (which uses the Unreal engine 4).

In fact, Novaquark hopes that Dual Universe (which takes place in a voxel-based universe) will take the Mmo genre to the next level (Mmo 2.0).

It´s hard to say anything on that matter at the moment. Because there´s no gameplay video, trailer or such for Dual Universe at this time. And the alpha won´t be released until next year sometime. I do like the concept pictures for the game though.

So i can´t wait to see more from Dual Universe!

About Dual universe:
The Dual Universe is a gigantic multi-planet world where players are free to invent their collective destiny: civilizations will rise and fall, player-driven events will shape the course of History, because everything you do matters in a persistent single-shard universe. We are pushing the limits of what is technically possible today to open the door to what we believe is the next generation of MMO games. Welcome to Dual Universe!
