Since the dawn of Gaming we (the players) have pretty much always played the role as the hero (aka “the good guy”), and in 9/10 cases that have meant that we had to save the save the princess and slay the dragon (or something similar of that kind). However, in StarBlade´s  action platformer “Nefarious” the table has been turned. You see, in “Nefarious” you actually play as a villain who works really hard to kidnap every princess in sight. Furthermore, you also get to fight the hero (s) in Reverse boss fights.

nefarious kidnapping the princess

Yes, you do kidnap princesses in “Nefarious”. In the matter of fact, it´s your job to do so.

So I think it´s safe to say that “Nefarious” is something out of the ordinary, and when I saw the features list for the game I got even more interested in the title:

Key Features
Lovingly crafted 2d animation and illustrated backdrops.
Reverse boss fights let you fight the hero.
Globe hop between five different kingdoms and even more distinct locations.
Unlock several ammo types for your grenade launcher
Mix and match customization options for 10+ variations on your explosive punches.
Mystery and Intrigue, that if uncovered, unlocks a secret ending!
Engage in a comedic story exploring and deconstructing the video game trope of princess kidnapping.

nefarious-the-anti-hero

Nefarious is easily THE coolest villain of 2017 so far.

And luckily enough for both me and you, we don´t have to wait for “Nefarious” to be released. Because StarBlade dropped the game on Steam last week (on the 23rd of January, to be exact). In other words, you could become the ultimate anti-hero today! (if you feel like it) And so far people seem to enjoy the game a whole lot (“Nefarious” has received some really positive reviews on Steam). So if you´re into action platformers and want to try something quite different, then check out  “Nefarious” =)

I take it that StarBlade took quite a lot of inspiration from Doctor Eggman (Sonic) when they created Nefarious vehicles.

Me, I´m going to try to get a review code for “Nefarious”, because I really feel like this is my kind of game (even if I don´t get a review key, I will still pick up the game at a later time). So yes, I will review and make at least ONE movie for “Nefarious” 😉
