A couple of days ago I (Robin Ek, TGG) was approached by an indie game developer called Extrokold Games, and Extrokold had me know that they are working on a Free-For-All action-packed naval combat multiplayer pirate game called “Unearned Bounty“. Furthermore, I was aslo told that the game will drop on Steam via Early Access very soon. Well, long story short, since I like pirate themed games a whole lot (I blame that fascination on “Monkey Island” and “Sid Meier’s Pirates!”. I decided to check out “Unearned Bounty”.

“Get ready to steal and plunder your way to victory in Unearned Bounty” Well, it´s a pirate game, so that makes perfect sense really.

Well, I´m sure glad that I made that decision, as the game made me think about a mix of “Overboard!” (it´s an old a top-down adventure gam PS1 game from 1997 by Psygnosis), “Monkey Island” and “Sid Meier’s Pirates!“. I also felt some “Windward” vibes as well. Even so, “Unearned Bounty” is quite something “else”. As the game brings its own unique features and content to the naval combat pirate table.

And by the looks of it, most people should be able to run “Unearned Bounty” on their system:

I also noticed that it appears as if the alpha went really well for “Unearned Bounty”:

“After running a successful alpha we feel this game has a strong core and far enough along enthusiasts who’d like to play the game before its initial release date would enjoy. We will be monitoring the balance of player ships, upgrade paths taken in rounds, meta-strategies that develop and consider feedback the community has to offer to help us make Unearned Bounty the best it can be!” – Extrokold Games

There will be four ships with their own unique ability and play style on launch.

So, when could one expect to be playing “Unearned Bounty” then? Well, I know that it says “coming soon” on the Steam page (that is for the Early Access version of the game), but Extrokold Games has stated that the full release won´t take place until Q4 2017 or Q1 2018. In other words, we just have to sit tight and hope for the best. As for here and now though, you can watch the latest trailer for the game down below!
