Some people ask why I stream on twitch, to them I say I enjoy it. While I don’t have many followers on twitch, those who do stop by and the people who find my stream by chance make it worthwhile.

I stream because I find it helps me enjoy a game more, I can talk to people, discuss my successes and failures as-well as get feedback from my viewers about how they’d approach situations and deal with them themselves.

As well as just generally having fun interacting with people as I play games.

I first got into streaming about a year ago, back then I had a really bad quad-core laptop that I was using. I remember playing Crusader Kings 2 on it and a year in-game being about 10 mins our time…boy they were long games.

I used to try to stream with it, but consistently had failure with it due to the laptop not being very good for anything apart from browsing really.

Back around Christmas I purchased a new i7 System and I wanted to stream properly.

I remember purchasing Xsplit due to a recommendation from a friend and setting everything up with my twitter and Facebook only to be hit with failure yet again (I had terrible sub 200kbs internet at the time).

Twitch has over 100 million viewers per month. So it´s no wonder that Twitch is a giant among Streaming services for Gaming.

At that time, I was enjoying War Thunder a lot and my internet was barely able to give me a playable ping rate for that never mind streaming as-well.

When I moved in with the girlfriend last month we decided to pay a little extra to get a really good internet package for our apartment. I remember going on steam and downloading H1Z1 at 11mbs (this is up from downloading games at 70-200kbs on steam).

And as soon as I knew I had really fast internet I started setting up my system to stream again. I purchased some cheap headphones with a mic and re-bought my Xsplit licence again so I could get everything going.

I started streaming as-soon as I was home from work each day and on my days off. I remember getting the occasional person visiting my stream and never saying anything.

However now and again someone would come in and start talking and we’d discuss anything from politics to how terrible my Sherman was at destroying Tiger Tanks.

It was that occasional person who’d visit me that’s driven me to continue and stream whenever I have time, knowing that someone will come and watch me and talk has always been a great feeling and it’s one that I truly enjoy.

While I may not have many followers (53 at the time of this post) I’m not out to get a massive following, I do it because I enjoy it and I’ll continue to do it for as long as I possibly can, because it’s fun and it makes gaming a whole new experience.
