Are you one of those gamers who has that few minutes of glory in a game and want to show it off? Or maybe you’re a starter YouTube gamer and you need to get the best quality possible. Well im here for your solution. So there are many recording devices you can use to capture that big moment and upload it.
Like i said there are many that people can choose from but there are two of them. The Hauppauge HD PVR 2 and the stunning Elgato capture HD device. Now out of many why would I choose these ones specifically? Well because these are actually the two best and here’s why.
The Hauppauge HD PVR 2: This is a personal video recorder that gives you stunning quality when it comes down to you wanting to get the best picture of your gaming. This recorder also gives you the quality of 1080p which is what you will want in your videos.
HD PVR 2 comes with HDMI in and out to make it easier to connect to your console and your HD TV set. For the PS3, HD PVR 2 comes with a PS3 Component Video gaming cable, while still using the HDMI out for no-delay pass-through to your HD TV set.
The PVR also comes with a free software for you to edit your videos, create logos, and upload to a website of your choice. Also you can add music to your videos which is pretty cool. The Hauppauge has a square design with a button at the top to record your gameplay and a light-up band that goes around it. One bummer about this device is that you need a power supply.
The Elgato: Comparing to the Hauppauge PVR the Elgato is pocket-size which is good for when you want to take it to a friend’s house and record over there. Also this device displays 1080p. The software that the Elgato uses for video editing is the simplest and easy to use software possible, so that there’s no hassle with editing. A great thing about this PVR is that it records up to an hour and keeps the file size low. Also you can go back an hour into your games or ever since you turned on your console.
These devices work on all consoles and including PC. With this being said i would recommend someone getting an Elgato rather than the Hauppauge because it has a smaller and elegant design to it, the software is way better, and its practically portable. The Hauppauge on the other hand does bring out a tiny bit of quality compared to the Elgato.
With the Hauppauge being about 160.00$ and The Elgato being 170.00$ they both are not bad Personal Video Recorders(PVR) It all falls down to what you can buy and what you want in a PVR. There are cheaper ones on amazon and Ebay so check those out as well. Here are some images of those PVR’s.
