Some people will probably hate me now. But i never really liked the design or the look of the Xbox One (sorry Microsoft, but you messed this one up big time!). For starter, the Xbox One looks like a clunky oversized VCR from the 80s. Secondly, it has no “wow factor” whatsoever. In fact, i felt absolutely nothing when i saw the Xbox One for the very first time back in May 2013.

To be honest, i thought that it was a joke. Or that it was a very early prototype of the Xbox One. A so-called “work in progress” kind of thing. But no, it was the real deal. And as we all know, Microsoft released the Xbox One the very same year (2013) in November.

But when former the former Xbox One boss Don Mattrick left Microsoft for Zynga back in July 2013. The Xbox One was in a terrible state. Things started to change when Phil Spencer became the new Xbox One boss though.

I still wonder when Microsoft will do something about the Xbox One design though.

xbox one zebra prototype

A Zebra designed Xbox One, well. It looks a “bit” better than the original design at least. The picture is borrowed from christianpost.

And that´s where the rumors about the The Xbox One “Zebra” prototype comes into the picture. Because i´m far from the only person that´s really disappointed about the Xbox One design.

Well, as you might know. There´s always a lot of different designs and prototypes for a new console. And it seems like the Reddit user “mamayer21” has gotten his hands on an early Xbox One prototype (as seen above).

It remains to be seen if it´s an actual legit Xbox One prototype though, you could always checkout the pictures and judge for yourself. But “mamayer21” is actually selling his/her Zebra patterned Xbox One. And from what i´ve been told. All the Xbox One dev kits that Microsoft sent out to developers had a different stripe pattern.

And why is that? Because that way MS could identify the source if there was a leak. Anyhow, what do you think about the Xbox One Zebra prototype? And would you buy it if you could?
