You know, for a while the point-and-click adventure genre was more or less dead (the early 2000s was a pretty dark period for adventure games and adventure hungry gamers).

However, by the mid-2000s all of that started to change for the better, and over time the adventure genre had more or less gotten back to its former glory and shape.

I really like “Theropods” retro-like graphics and art style. As for the female hunter in the picture though, let’s hope that she doesn’t end up in a “You clever girl” kind of a situation…

Well, in my opinion, a lot of that can be credited to indie games developers. I mean, nowadays we get tons of new adventure games pretty much every year to all sorts of formats.

Even so, though. I can’t say that I’ve seen (or heard of) all that many dinosaur-themed adventure games over the years. Well, that just happens to be the kind of game that Kostas Skiftas and Sarah Duffield-Harding is developing.

“Theropods” looks and feels like a mix of “Jurassic Park”, “Monkey Island” and “The Croods”.

You see, Kostas and Sarah just reached out to us and had us know that their dinosaur-themed adventure game “Theropods” is on its way to Kickstarter (the game is said to launch on Kickstarter on the 9th of July):

“I am messaging you after reading on the website your coverage of some cool Kickstarter Projects (more recently with Evan’s Remains and Afterlight) and we are working on a campaign for a game right now that you may enjoy!

Our team is launching a campaign tomorrow (9th of July) for a Point&Click Adventure Game set in a prehistoric world full of dinosaurs and we would love it if you could have a look! There is also a Demo!” – Kostas

“Theropods” is currently in development for PC, and if everything goes according to plan, then we should get a chance to play the full version of “Theropods” in June of 2021.

Long story short, I picked up on that offer. So, what is “Theropods” all about then? Well, here’s what Kostas told us:

“Theropods is a point and click adventure game that combines puzzles with a cinematic story, colourful characters and a retro aesthetic. Oh, and lots of dinosaurs!

Travel back to the time when dinosaurs ruled the world and (a little less further back) when adventure games ruled the gaming world! Immerse yourself in a vast, prehistoric world full of dinosaurs, constructed with love, PIXEL BY PIXEL.”

“Theropods” needs to collect 20,000 Euros via Kickstarter in-order to become a reality.

Other than that, we were also informed that there is a playable demo for “Theropods” that you could download and play right now if you feel like it =)

In other words, if you like the game’s demo (and what you’ve seen from the game so far), then show “Theropods” some love and support once its Kickstarter campaign kicks-off by tomorrow!
