***Update 2015-05-30 -09:40 CEST***

Surprise, surprise. As it all turns out, 2K Games “Advent” was indeed a new X-COM game. But i´m glad that i was wrong (i thought that “Advent” would be something else), as i´m a huge X-Com fan. This became known when the “Advent” teaser site got cracked by some Reddit users just recently. And they found out that there´s angram to be found on the site. An anagram which they cracked.

And when you put all the letters together, you will get the following phrase “GFIILOD NCOVO“. That might seem like pure nonsense to the most. But it´s not, because it´s actualy the anagram of “Vigilo Confido“. Which just happends to be to motto that´s on the emblem of “X-Com: Enemy Unknown“.

Vigilo Confido, 13 letters. GFIILOD NCOVO, 13 letters.
C: 1/1. D: 1/1. F: 1/1. G: 1/1. I: 3/3. L: 1/1. N: 1/1. O: 3/3. V: 1/1.
Anagram! Xcom extremely confirmed. – computeraddict

By the looks of it. “Vigilo Confido” looks a lot like the 1997 X-Com game “X-Com Apocalypse”.

So there will most likely be a official announcement of the new X-Com game very soon. And i´m probarly not the only person that thought of the old school X-Com game ” XCOM: Apocalypse” (which was released back in 1997), when i looked through all the pictures and information about “Vigilo Confido”. So let´s just say that i´m very excited to see more from the game asap!

And “maybe” 2K Games will showcase the new X-Com game during E3 in June?

Advent lies
———————————————–

No, it´s not a new X-Com or Bioshock title. But 2K Games new game “Advent” sure looks very Bioshock:ish at least (due to the games dystopian future setting). And that became known when Take-Two announced the game (it´s a AAA title) during their last financial conference call. And shortly after that 2K Games started to tease “Advent” to the whole world via Twitter (part 1 and part 2).

And based on the site for “Advent”, the game seems to offer both hacking and genetic enhancement abilities. But the most interesting part of “Advent” so far, would be the setting of the game. Because it seems like the world is falling apart in the game (war, starvation, riots and so on). And there´s millions of people missing as well.

advent

That sure sounds promising enough. But i bet that “something” will go terribly wrong along the way.

And the text desperation on the games homepage gives you an even better insight on what’s going down in the world of “Advent”.

“Amazing advancements in architectural construction have led to a new kind of city. The gleaming towers are specifically designed to utilize space in efficient ways never before seen, as well as provide the comforts and amentities of a resort. Each living unit is outlined with the very best in high-tech comfort and utilitarian style. Protected 24 hours a day by ADVENT forces, citizens can have a peace of mind with the knowledge that their families are always safe. ADVENT Cities are a fresh start. Join us and help us build a brighter future today.” – Advent´s homepage

Sounds pretty interesting right? Well, it gets better. Because Hangar 13 “might” be the studio that´s developing “Advent”. And Hangar 13 has a really talented team (the people on the team has worked on everything from Star Wars: 1313, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Mafia 2 to Dead Space 2). So i sure hope that we will get see (and hear) some more details about 2K Games “Advent” in the near future! (maybe during E3?)
