Let´s play an old game called “Blame everything on the video games”
And here we go again! The full 90s retard mode has just been activated, because back in the 90s pretty much everyone blamed the video games for just about everything. Rape, murder, school shootings, serial killers, you name it. Doom, GTA and Mortal Kombat (to name a few) has all gone through that “blame game” process several times since the 90s. So it’s nothing new under the sun, and now it´s time again for the same-old song to be played on repeat. As CNN´s Ashleigh Banfield blamed the Charleston shooting (Dylan Roof killed nine people on the 17th of June) on Mortal Kombat (X). In fact, these are Banfield´s on words:
“White supremacy led to the Mortal Kombat murders of nine churchgoers” – Ashleigh Banfield, CNN
Not only that, Banfield also misrepresented former Democratic Congressman Ben Jones live on TV as well (she cherry picked his words, miss-quoted him and turned his own words against him).
White blame, shame and guilt
The Banfield went on blaming the South and the whole white race in general (which made Ben Jones very upset, and rightfully so!), even though Dylan Roof is just ONE individual among many other Caucasian people all over the world. So Roof doesn´t represent or speak for me/us, and his actions don’t speak for me/us. I mean, that´s like I would claim that every black person is like the thugs that started the riots in Baltimore and Ferguson. Which simply is not true, so dear mainstream media. Please stop this “blame game” nonsense. It´s not helping, in fact. It’s making things even worse than it already is. I also find it rather disgusting that you (the media) once again bring Gaming and Gamers into a hateful crime which has nothing to do with video games (whatsoever).
Evil can´t be beaten with lies, blame games nor smoke and mirrors
So here´s a word of advice, focus on what can be done instead. Find solutions and come up with ideas how we can prevent crimes such as this from happening, and for the love of god. Stop blaming the video games for every bad or evil thing that happens in the world, because evil has existed since the dawn of time (long before video games even existed). And blaming video games for one mans evil deeds won´t solve a thing, in this case the public (Dylan Roof´s teachers, parents, friends and so on) should have seen the warning signs. In short, Dylan Roof should have under gone a full mental check a long time ago, as he obviously was in desperate need of mental help.
With that said, all my prayers goes to the affected families in Charleston, US. May their loved ones rest in peace.
