Well, this sure came out of nowhere. It´s true though, because Jade Raymond has really left Ubisoft for EA. This became publicly known just recently when Raymond reviled that she will be working on a brand-new Star Wars title at EA´s new studio in Montreal, Canada. Anyhow, this is what Jade Raymond told Gamespot just recently:

“I’m happy to announce that I’m joining Electronic Arts and opening Motive, a new development studio in my home town of Montreal, Canada,” 

“Yanick Roy and the BioWare Montreal team are doing some new and exciting things with Mass Effect: Andromeda and it’s clear that there is already so much talent to collaborate with on site,”

And this is where things get even more interesting, as the former writer for the Uncharted series (Amy Hennig) will work with Jade Raymond on EA´s new Star Wars title together.

“I’ve known Amy for years and have admired her work on the Uncharted games! I’m thrilled that the first big project that we will work on in Montreal will have Amy as Creative Director.”  – Jade Raymond, EA

Nice indeed, and it seems like Patrick Söderlund (Executive Vice President, EA Studios) is very thrilled over the fact that Jade Raymond is joining EA, as Söderlund stated the following shortly after Raymond´s announcement about joining EA:

“An opportunity to work with her and the Visceral team, and to play in the Star Wars universe, is once-in-a-lifetime stuff.” 

“Jade and I share the same passion for amazing games with huge imagination, and a drive to create that next big thing that everyone will want to play,” – Patrick Söderlund Executive Vice President, EA Studios

So I guess that this means that Raymond has finally found herself a new home, because she had to make the hard decision to leave Ubisoft back in October 2014. In fact, Jade described as one of the hardest decisions that she has made in her career. That´s quite understandable though, I just hope that Jade made the right decision, but so far that seems to be the case. I should also point out that Raymond will get the pleasure to oversee the Visceral studio in California, US.

With that said, we wish Jade Raymond the best of luck at EA!
