Online roulette is one of the most popular casino games on the web right now. Numerous professional gamblers, as well as complete newbies, are exploring various strategies that can improve their chances of beating the game.

However, before we proceed to discuss betting strategies, we need to get one thing out of the way first — roulette is a game of chance and no matter how good your strategy is, the element of luck will still play the most important role.

Of course, there are a couple of things you can do to improve your overall casino experience, but this article will focus mainly on roulette.

Therefore, let’s take a look at strategies that can be applied to online roulette games.

The Martingale

The Martingale betting system is perhaps the most popular one among roulette players. It works only on even bets such as red/black, odd/even, etc. Basically, you need to start with a small bet and double up every time you lose. As soon as you win, make sure to reset your bet to the starting amount.

For example, if you bet $5 on red and you lose, you need to increase your bet size to $10 in the next round. That way, you will spend a total of $15, but if you win, you will win $20. Basically, every time you win, you will increase your winnings for the starting betting amount.

For example, if you lose five times in a row, you will have invested a total of $135 (5+10+20+40+60). We need to add $120 to that amount for the sixth bet, which results in a total of $235. However, if you win the sixth bet, you will receive $240 — exactly $5 more than the previously invested amount.

The Labouchere

Many roulette game variations, the majority of which can be found in ICE36 UK, don’t require the player to think much. All you have to do is make a bet and wait for the ball to land.

That’s where the Labouchere betting system comes in. Although it’s not half as effective as the Martingale, it is still a very entertaining betting strategy players can use to add another level of fun to roulette.

The first step is coming up with the amount you want to win. Let’s say you want to win $20. Next, you need to come up with a sequence of numbers that add up to 20. For example, you can say 3, 2, 4, 5, 2, 1, 3. Then, you need to make a bet that’s equal to the sum of the leftmost and the rightmost number. In this case, that’s $6.

If you manage to win, exclude those numbers from the sequence and make another bet with the leftmost and rightmost numbers (this time, you would bet $3). Once you cross out all the numbers, you will have achieved the goal!

If you lose, however, you need to add the amount you bet to the end of the sequence and make a new bet that sums the leftmost and the rightmost number (this time, you would bet $9).

The D’Alembert

The D’Alembert betting system is somewhat similar to the Martingale, except that it is not as effective. However, it’s also not as aggressive as the Martingale as the betting amount is not that explicitly increased or decreased.

This betting system suggests that you need to have a minimum betting amount that will be your starting bet. Every time you lose, you need to increase your bet by that amount, and every time you win, you should decrease it.

For example, if your starting bet is $5 and you lose two times in a row, you would then have to place a $15 (5+5+5) bet. If you win in the third round, you need to decrease your bet by 5 and bet $10.

Conclusion

If you want to test these strategies you can play live online roulette games on Mega Casino. Make sure to start with small amounts and be careful not to get carried away when you apply one of these betting systems. All of them may trick you into believing that you’re winning, even if you’re on a losing streak.
