You know, it’s pretty insane how fast time goes by sometimes. I mean, it’s been over two-years since the last time I wrote about luck and gambling mechanics in the world of video games.
Well, that’s exactly the reason why I decided to write a brand-new article on the said subject for the first time in years. So with that said, let’s get the show on the road shall we?
Right off the bat, now that I think about it, even if luck isn’t a perk in the actual game itself as per se, luck has still very much been a thing in video games for a very long time.
For example, there is a handful of video game series where luck plays a big role in terms of winning Vs losing a battle, or getting or not getting a rare item.

“Fallout: New Vegas” takes place in Las Vegas. So naturally there are both casinos, gambling and gamblers to be found in the game.
I mean, just take the ”Diablo” series, even the very first ”Diablo” offers randomly generated content, maps, enemies and much more. In other words, luck will indeed affect your odds of finding something expensive and rare, or getting that one hit in that does enough damage for you to win a close call battle with a boss.
Well, I think you get the idea. So let’s move on to the next game series shall we? Next-up we got the ”Fallout” series, where luck plays a very big part indeed, and that for more than one reason.

You can buy a lot of gear, weapons and items with the money that you’ve won from gambling. However, some word of advice, spend your money on stuff that really helps you to level up as you’re going to need all the perks, upgrades and help that you can get to make it to the finish line.
For starter, even since the very first ”Fallout” game luck affected everything from winning money at casinos (or gambling in general), getting a critical hit on your enemies to finding rare and special random encounters.
As a matter of fact, you can’t even find some items, weapons, people or places unless your luck perk stats are high enough. Even more so, if your luck perk stats are very low, then the game will become even harder since you also don’t get any critical hits all that often.

You can improve your chances of winning at casinos and whatnot by getting the “gambler” perk. As the gambler perk adds +40 skill points to gambling.
Other than that, you also got the aspect that concern gambling, because you can actually earn quite a lot of money via gambling in both ”Fallout 1” and ”Fallout 2”, and that gives you (the player) a much better soft start at the very start of the game since you can use your gambling cash to buy new weapons, gear and item (all of which is going to help you out a whole lot during your adventures and quests).

There are two different casinos to be found in New Reno (Shark Club and Desperado), and both casinos are owned and run by two rival mob families (yes, you can work for both and gamble at both casinos).
It’s also worth mentioning that luck plays a big role even modern games in the current year, just take game titles such as ”Fallout: New Vegas”, ”The Witcher Card Game”, ” Deus Ex: Mankind Divided”, ”X-COM 2”, or pretty much any given turn-based or dice-based video game.
So, with that fresh in mind. Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do you! Well, if you do, then you might want to check out this nice canadian online casino called ”cookiecasino”, as you could win yourself some real actual money if you’re lucky and skilled enough.
Well, best of luck in both the real world and in the world of video games boys and girls =)
