I have tried, seen and read about many different kinds of game controllers since the early 90s. Even so, I haven´t seen a controller quite like TreeTech´s wireless Po!nt Game Controller (for PC and consoles). And that´s probably because I have never seen (or tried) a controller which has mashed a computer keyboard and mouse, into one single game controller before (yes, it´s a wireless controller). That´s just the half of it though. As the Po!nt g controller is also said to have absolute accuracy in aim and movement, and the controller is modular friendly as well. In other words, you can change the looks and feel of the controller as you please (yes, you can assign the controller keys as you wish too). That sounds really great for sure, but there is a huge catch to all of this. And that would be the fact that TreeTech needs to collect 250,000 Euros on Kickstarter within 56 days henceforth, or else there might not be a Po!nt game controller on the market by the end of this year. So as you might imagine, it´s going to take a lot of effort to reach that goal on time. I wish TreeTech the best of luck with that though.

point game controller

I can´t say that I´ve ever seen a game controller quite like the Po!nt controller before.

As for my actual thoughts on the controller itself (based on what I´ve seen so far), I have to say that the Po!nt game controller seems to be rather user-friendly as well (at least that´s the vibes that I felt while watching the “Team Fortress 2 on the Po!nt Controller” video). However, I´m not 100% sure about the design and feel of the controller. Well, let´s just say that I think that the controller looks rather “goofy” (the final product might have a different design though). Nevertheless, I could live with that “if” the Po!nt game controller is really good. As I think that usability, comfortability and having an awesome gameplay experience are more important than looks (some of my favorite controllers are the Gamecube, PS4 and the Xbox Elite controller though, and I don´t really consider them to be ugly).

So I have to try the Po!nt game controller myself before I mention anything more about it on that front. Even so, I have to admit that TreeTech is thinking outside of the box at least. And they have come a long way since they started to develop their Po!nt game controller in January last year (no doubt about it). Still, it remains to be seen whether or not that will be enough to impress the Gaming community (TreeTech will not make it on Kickstarter without their help and support).

point game controller timeline

So the plan would be to release the po!nt game controller during November this year. “If” the Kickstarter campaign becomes a success that is.

Naturally, it´s of course a matter of how much the controller will cost on launch as well (which should be sometime in November this year). So I´m rather curious to find out what TreeTech plans to charge for the Po!nt Game controller. Well, there is no such information at this time. However, TreeTech stated the following on their Kickstarter page:

“The Po!nt Controller is a work in progress. Although we have come a long way since we started development almost a year ago, we are eager to ensure a really optimized product in both price and quality. Our first goal therefore is raising funds for Developer Kits. This way the community can have full participation in the development of the coolest handheld controller out there!” – TreeTech

So there you have it, and with that said. What do you guys and girls think about the Po!nt game controller so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
