Not only is it Thanksgiving today (speaking of which, Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American readers, viewers and fans!) but it´s also a very special day for Dreamhack.

Because 20 years ago Dreamhack was created in a Swedish city called “Malung” (by Kenny “K2-ICE” Eklund and Martin “DH_admin” Öjes).

And as we all know, quite a lot has happened with Dreamhack since 1994.

Yep, Dreamhack has been around since 1994. That´s pretty unreal when you think about it. In a good way i mean.

Like the fact that it´s the worlds s largest digital festival and LAN party. Or that DH now also host events in other countries. So a big congratulations to the Dreamhack folks on the 20th anniversary!

DreamHack started in November 1994 when Kenny “K2-ICE” Eklund and Martin “DH_admin” Öjes rented the local school cafeteria in the small city Malung and invited their computer entusiast friends to join them for a week end of coding and hacking.

Today DreamHack is the worlds largest digital festival, the indisputable largest LAN party in the world with close to 25,000 visitors, 17,618 unique devices in the network & 9,444 visitors who enjoy DreamHack with their own computer.

DreamHack is also a world class esports event, DreamExpo, cosplay and a celebration on all things Internet happening several times each year all around the world.
