QuakeCon 2015 is over for this year, but the fun is far from over. As Bethesda reviled the following last night:
“Attendees at QuakeCon 2015 may be the first to go hands on with pre-alpha DOOM multiplayer, but we still have big plans for fans that pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order. In the coming months, we’ll be selecting Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC players from the Wolfenstein: TNO Beta pool to participate in the DOOM Multiplayer Alpha. To make sure you’re eligible, make sure you redeem your DOOM Beta code at www.wolfenstein.com/doom. If you purchased the game digitally through Steam, PSN, or Xbox Live, you’re already set — you have a digital entitlement that will ready you for the Alpha when it starts. As a reminder, everyone that pre-ordered Wolfenstein: the New Order is eligible to participate in the multiplayer beta planned for next year before DOOM’s Spring 2016 release.” – Bethesda, via the their blog
In other words, Bethesda will handpick a handful of players who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order (PC, PS4 and Xbox One), players whom will get the great pleasure to play the Doom Multiplayer Alpha (once it’s available that is). Awesome indeed. And if you watched Bethesda´s QuakecCon 2015 Twitch stream, then you know more than well how impressive Doom is.
Personally, I have to say that I’m really impressed by Doom so far. And by the look of things, it seems like everyone had a great time at QuakeCon 2015 as well. However, I´m surprised that Josh (or Anita) hasn’t whined and complained about QuakeCon so far. Especially since Feminist Frequency complained a lot about Doom during the E3 2015 event. Anyways, Doom (4) is set for a Spring release next year (for PC, PS4 and Xbox One). So I can´t wait to experience hell yet again! And this time hell is running on the Id Tech 6 engine. As for now (since it´s going to be a long wait for the new Doom game), I will just keep on playing (and enjoying) Brutal Doom v20, and Andrew Hulshult´s remastered soundtrack of Doom.
