It´s been a while since i heard anything Totalbiscuit related to be honest. Sure i watch his videos from time to time. But there hasn´t been anything quite like the rants about “#shutuptotalbiscuit” lately. Well, so i thought. Until i heard about Totalbiscuit´s video “Are eSports real sports and does it even matter?“. Which basically calls out Eric Johnson from Recode, for the article that he wrote about eSports in regards to ESPN broadcasting a Heroes of the Storm tournament (as pictured below).
I honestly had no idea who Eric Johnson was before i watched Totalbiscuit´s video. Either did i know that Mr Johnson is a anti-GamerGate supporter, nor the fact that he hates Totalbiscuit as well. So there was much more to that video than i first thought (as they both hate each other). So what exactly did Totalbiscuit do to Mr Johnson?
Well, biscuit debunked his article, plain and simple. And stated the obvious facts and pointed out the errors (which can be found in the Recode.net article). So is that such a big deal really? No, it´s not. But when you´re a fan of Esport (which i am), then you know that it´s a rather stupid thing to claim that Esport = Sports.

It requires a lot of skill, talent and practice to become a Esport star. But even so, Esport i still not an actual sport per say (there´s not the same kind of athletism involved in Esport).
It´s quite obvious why it´s called “sport” and “Esport”. Sure, chess is “theoretically” a sport. As it´s been accepted as a Olympic game. But you get the idea. Anyhow, what do you guys think about Eric Johnson´s article on Esport? And do you think that Totalbiscuit was right or wrong?
