There’s a lot happening with Final Fantasy XV you need to know about, and there’s not much time left before it’s refined and ready to drop for consoles.

We’ve already seen the game shown off for players during a live stream with Hajime Tabata, giving players intimate details about the game and what fans can come to expect from this latest installment.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ducsae

For starters, the demo for Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ducsae, will only be available with Final Fantasy Type-0. Square Enix has already stated that the demo will only be released with the day one editions of the game, and will not be released as a standalone.

If you want to guarantee that you’ll get the demo, you’ll have to pre-order and purchase Final Fantasy Type-0 before its release.

Although there isn’t a release date for Final Fantasy XV yet, it has Square Enix has said that the game is almost 60% completed.

Weapons and equipment

Your weapons won’t change, and there won’t be any experimentation with weapons in the demo. The weapons you begin with are what you’ll operate with throughout the 3 hour demo provided. Yes you read that right, the demo will be at least 3 hours long.

The saving grace with the weapons will be the Phantom Swords, which can be sought out beyond the regular story line.

The demo will include side-elements (such as searching for Phantom Swords) as well as elements that unlock after the demo has been beaten.

final fantasy xv demo

There´s a lot of mixed emotions about the new FF XV demo.

Demo completion

Beating the demo will trigger an ending that will tie into the game’s story line, but it will not port any of your progress from the demo into the final version of the game.

As far as movement is concerned, you’ll be traveling on foot—despite seeing the awesome convertible in all of the tech demo’s up to this point.

The final piece to the puzzle of the demo is of course the graphics—which are boasted to be even better in the final product vs. the demo.

According to Square Enix, and the game’s director Hajime Tabata, the final version will run in full HD, but the demo doesn’t run in 1080p or 30 frames per second. Also, weather in the final game will change but remains static in the demo.

As for scope, when asked about the full version’s map size, Tabata stated he doesn’t know.

If you haven’t pre-ordered Final Fantasy Type-0 you should get on it fast, as the game comes out March 17, 2015. If you miss your opportunity, you can always show up on day one and hope for extra copies if you’re lucky.

However, as the game is street dated, you will have very slim pickings choosing this route. We’ll have more on this game as we keep covering it.

Keep it locked here for more on Final Fantasy XV and more!

When watched i watched the “40 Minutes of Final Fantasy XV Gameplay” video (by IGN), i noticed that there was a lot of whining and rants by so-called “hardcore” Final Fantasy fans.

Well, i think TheKaizokuTV made some really good (and valid) points with his comment on the topic:

“It’s funny how people claim they are hardcore FF-Fans, but then they don’t know anything about this game.
Lets clear it up Crybabies

1.The world looks so empty because it’s the demo and the director already confirmed, that the endgame will be full with monster and minigames + sidequests
2.No this is not a hack&slay game – it’s a mix of kingdom hearts and final fantasy tpye 0 with some elements of Final Fantasy 12. So there will be Strategy (gambit) Magic, Summons and with your MP Bar you have to fight carefully
3.This Game is not a Final Fantasy? It will have classic Monsters from the first FF Games, Summons, Airships, a huge open world, cities, shops, classical FF music, a story about crystals
4.The writer of this game is Nojima who was also Writer from FF7 and FFX
5.The Director of this Game is Tabata who was also Director of Crisis Core and Type 0
6.The Team that made the horrible FF13 game isnt working on this Game. So this is a completely different team than the FF13 Team
7.Music will be by Shimomura who also composed Kingdom Hearts and Xenoblade Soundtracks” – TheKaizokuTV
