EA has forgone the usual boisterous launch, and softly released Need for Speed: No Limits. Unfortunately for EA, NFS: NL is already receiving heat for a particularly annoying IAP (in app purchase) that pops up.

It gives players the option to decide where they can purchase more gas. It’s unclear on whether or no this will make it into the final product on Google Play or not.

For the US, Need for Speed No Limits has yet to show up, which confirms it is a soft lauch for specific regions only. Here’s what’s known about the game so far:

Region-based

So far only the Netherlands and Taiwan have received the game, and there’s no date on when the US can expect a date of its release.

Honestly we could be the last country it touches as EA will surely wish to polish the game thoroughly by testing all of its IAP’s in other regions first.

Will EA´s “Need for speed:no limits” become a big success or failure?

Customization

In terms of customization, Need for Speed: No Limits appears to have the most customization combinations available in any racing game released so far.

With apparently over “250 million combinations of parts, including the latest licensed body kits from Rocket Bunny, Mad Mike, and Vaughn Gittin Jr“.

Gameplay Modes

Need for Speed: No Limits also has three game modes to play through – Time Trial, Car Delivery, and Duel modes. Whether it be against other players (no live multiplayer as of right now apparently), beating the best time, or delivering a car to a specific point—it appears there’s something for everyone which is a  good thing as the game is mobile based.

While we know it is available in Taiwan and Netherlands, it may be available in other locations as well.  EA is hoping that the success of this game will mark the resurgence of the Need for Speed franchise.

If Need for Speed No Limits does well it very well could spell success. If it fails, EA will have to make the next entry that much more impressive based on feedback for Need for Speed No Limits.
