Lies and smoke screens

In a way, I bet that the Anti-GamerGate movement is feeling like the Juventus fans at the moment (Juventus lost to Barcelona with 3-1 in the 2015 Champions League final), as its starting to become quite obvious for everyone (GG, Anti-GG and neutrals) which side it is that has won most of it´s battles. Not only that, it´s also pretty clear that there´s been a lot of lies about #GamerGate since August last year. However, some of the biggest lies about GG would be the following:

1. #GamerGate is a hate/terrorist group, which also happens to hate women (Women Action Media´s twitter abuse report states something else).
2. #GamerGate is NOT about Ethics (the University of Alberta´s study proves that to be wrong).
3. #GamerGate is a group of white angry men with beards (there´s quite a lot of diversity within #GamerGate, so that´s not true either).
4. GamerGat hasn´t achieved anything (yet again wrong).

So as you might imagine, the narrative and the credibility have started to crumble for the games-press, the media and the Anti-GamerGate movement (with friends), and I think that officiallyNerdCubed just hit another nail in the coffin with his “I Graphed GamerGate” video. As officiallyNerdCubed has taken his time to study both #GamerGate and Anti-GamerGate´s online activities (which you can see for yourself in the pictures down below).

So much for the “#GamerGate is a hate, misogynist and terrorist group”.

Then I found out about the University of Alberta´s #GamerGate studies, which proves that #GamerGate really is about video game journalism and ethics. I have not read all the data (as there´s quite a lot to it), but I have seen enough to understand that there´s a lot truth to the part about “#GamerGate is about ethics in video game journalism#.

I have seen a lot of meme GG Vs Anti-GG meme pictures since August last year, but it´s more intense now.

I also noticed another thing today. Sure, I don´t know if it´s just a coincidence or not, but I can´t say that I’ve ever seen so many #GamerGate meme pictures for the last 48 hours, that I have now. It´s almost like the GG movement knows that they have their victory within reach, thus, GG is making fun out of Anti-GG with friends.

It´s “almost” like you could suspect that Miss Anita Sarkeesian is trying to hide something from us?

Not only that. #GamerGate has also started to do a lot of crack downs on many of the famous faces of the Anti-GamerGate movement (and the games-press) as well. People such as Anita Sarkeesian, and the Deepfreeze site has been updated a lot since the very first time I wrote about it back in May. So this might just be another battle (among many) that #GamerGate has won as of lately, but is the end of the “#GamerGate Vs Anti-GamerGate war” within reach?

Hard to tell, since it seems to be the kind of conflict that´s an “forever ongoing” kind of thing. However, even as a neutral I have to say that #GamerGate are the clear winners of this conflict (with no doubt).
