Just the day before Christmas there was this huge internet rumor about SEGA working on a brand new Virtua Fighter game. The whole thing started with a post by the NeoGAF user “Verendus“.

Which would be an well-known user at NeoGAF, he/she is also considered to be a reliable source when it comes to SEGA rumors).

That´s awesome of course. But as far as i know, SEGA has made zero official statements on these Virtua Fighter rumors.

But considering the fact that there hasn´t been a big nextgen VR title since “Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown” (which was released back in 2012 for PS3 and 360).

Nevertheless, i bet that SEGA is hungry to return to the fighting genre again. Sure, SEGA has released two Virtua Fighter mobile games over the years (“Cool Champ” and  “Fever Combo”).

And from what i´ve heard. The Virtua Fighter fans are more than ready for a new VR title (PS4, Xbox One and PC anyone?). But for now, we can just wait and see what SEGA will do.

It´s 100% true that there´s a Virtua Fighter movie in the making though.
