Normally i don’t get upset or angry that easy. But this really pissed me off. I don´t know if you guys already heard about this.
But apparently there’s a bunch of people who scams indie game developers on game codes (Steam codes).
How? They claim to be Youtubers, then they get preview (or review) codes for some indie games. Codes which they then try to sell via G2A or Steam community groups. This made me so damn angry.
Not only because the indie game developes get ripped off (that´s pretty obvious. They work hard to make a living out of their games).
But also because people like us (that actually work really hard 24/7. Which we have done for 5 years now) get dragged in the mud as well. Because now there will be an even bigger paranoia in business. So i thought of what can be done?
Well, there´s a number of things that we all can do really. So i took the liberty to make a little list:
1. If you spot a group (Steam or whatever) that are doing this kind of thing. Inform the sites webmaster asap!
2. Spread the word out about people who scam developes (if you got hard evidence that back up your facts)
3. Inform the developer/developers in question directly. If you see some dirty business going down.
4. Start a Youtube scammers group/site, and do a blacklist over sites (and people) that scam developes
