Chart track has published its list of top-selling games of the last year. And there are no real surprises in there; FIFA and CoD continue to dominate sales and top the table, followed by Fallout 4! The closest we come to a surprise is with the longevity of games released in 2014 that appear on this list; Mario Kart 8 is probably the biggest surprise given how poorly the WiiU is selling – Assassins Creed Unity is also here, which shows that patches can change the fortune of those broken games.

This shouldn’t be taken as gospel. However, it should be noted that Chart Track neither take digital downloads into consideration nor do they release the sales figures. Nevertheless, this definitely gives us a good insight into the buying habits of video game players in the UK.

They do, however, release market share information and unsurprisingly Sony’s Playstation 4 has the lion‘s share of the software market with a hugely impressive 36%; meanwhile the Xbox One has a 29.7% share. The hardware sold is nowhere near this close (PS4 is still outselling the One 2 to 1 according to latest figures), but it shows that games sell on both consoles – so fear not Xbox One owners those 3rd party developers will not be abandoning you this generation.

So here is the list; in full!
