You know what they say right? That there´s an end to everything? Well, it´s true. Nethertheless, I still have to admit that I was really sad to hear Ubisoft´s decision, to retire Frag Dolls after 11 years of service (the first American lineup got assembled back in 2004), as I believe that the Frag Dolls have helped a lot of young female Gamers to get a chance to work in the video game industry (whether it’s game development, Esport, doing interviews or hosting their own game shows). You know. I still remember the first time I heard about Frag Dolls. It was back in 2004-2005 sometime.

Fragdolls had an interview with PC Gamer around that time (I think). Anyhow, I was (and I still am) very positive towards the whole idea behind Frag Dolls. As I remember that I (with many others) loved the thought of having more Gamer girls around. Not everyone liked that idea though, but some people are very shallow minded and ignorant sadly enough.

Frag Dolls may be gone, but their legacy lives on!

No one can deny the fact that the Frag Dolls has had a huge impact on the Gaming community and the games industry as a whole though. As the Frag Dolls have brought more focus and attention to the female side of Gaming, since the group got started in 2004. People may correct me now, but back in 2004 (which was the same year that the Frag Dolls got created) there wasn´t all that many female Esport groups, or Esport groups that even had a female in their team.

Not only that, there were actually several Frag Dolls groups all over the world. Like “UK Frag Dolls“, “French Frag Dolls“, there even existed “Frag Doll Cadettes” at one time (which worked kind of like a drafting Academy, to find future Frag Dolls all over the world). So I’m quite sure that the Frag Dolls organization has brought more females into the world of Gaming (and the video game industry) during the 11 years that they were active (2004 to 2015).

Fragdolls has been around since 2004, it´s time for them tos say goodbye now though.

So I think the Frag Dolls deserves a lot of respect, love and credit for all the hard work that they have done over the years (and recognition!). I just hope that this is the beginning of something new (that´s at least the vibes I’ve got from watching Fragdolls “good-bye” videos), and that future female Gamers will take inspiration from the Frag Dolls (and keep their legacy alive).

Fragdolls has hade quite a few awesome members over the years.
