I had a feeling that American McGee had something in the works on the “Alice” front, because as you might already know. Fans of the series have been asking for a new “Alice” game for many years now (“Alice: Madness Returns” was the latest “Alice” title, and that game launched back in 2011). Furthermore, McGee has stated more than one time in the past that he would love to work on a brand-new “Alice” title (so much so that even he told fans to start bugging EA about it, instead of him). Well, I think it’s safe to say that the cat is out of the bag now, because just recently McGee published the following text on his blog:

“Fresh off the success of “Out of the Woods” on Kickstarter American McGee will start work on a proposal for the next chapter in Alice’s adventures, tentatively titled “Alice: Asylum.” This proposal will include artwork, design outline, and financial/business model. When this proposal is finished (and assuming all the numbers and constraints make sense) it’ll be sent to EA. You can show your support for this effort by signing up to the mailing list below. Let’s show EA how many people want a new Alice game!” – American McGee

I wonder how many names it will take to get EA interested in a new “Alice” game though (100k?).

Yes, you read it right, American McGee is working on an “Alice 3” proposal (the project name is currently called “Alice: Asylum“) which he intends to send to EA. So there “might” be a new “Alice” game after all =) Especially since McGee’s “Out of the woods” became a big success on Kickstarter (3,771 backers pledged almost 300,000 USD in total), because that should make it easier for McGee to convince EA to let him work on a new “Alice” title. Well, time will tell. So I wish McGee the best of luck with everything. I would also like to point out that McGee contacted us a couple of days ago, and he had us know that his currently going through our interview questions which we sent to him just recently. In other words, I/we hope to publish the interview as soon as possible.

As for here and now though, it might be a good idea to sign up for the “Alice 3” mailing list if you’re interested in the game, because then you get the latest news about the title directly via your own e-mail inbox. Other than that, I added McGee’s “Alice: Madness Returns” stream further down the page.
