It´s kind of funny how things turn out sometimes. Because as you might remember Google actually tried to buy Twitch for one billion dollars back in August last year. A “fair” bid for sure, but Amazon won the bidding war and bought Twitch for 970 million dollars. So I bet that Google has been craving for revenge ever since. Well, Google doesn’t have to feel sorry about their loss to Amazon anymore, since their launching their own Streaming service “Youtube Gaming” this summer (it´s a stand-alone service for PC´s, smart phones and tablets), And Google is dead serious about “Youtube Gaming” too.

As the service will launch with more than 25,000 games on the launch day, and there will be different pages for “Youtube Gaming” too. Like live streams, creator channels, matching game content and recent videos. So it should be rather easy to find awesome accounts to follow and entertaining streams to watch.

Youtube Gaming will work on both tablets, smartphones and PC´s.

That´s just the half of it though. As Google aims to provide “Youtube Gaming” with an awesome live streaming experience (60fps with improved latency). You will even be able to convert your streams into Youtube videos (new as old), and here´s the thing. Google will archive your old Youtube Gaming Streams forever, so that means that you can download them whenever you feel like it (Twitch doesn’t save videos, which are older than 60 days).

It sounds great with no doubt, but I´ll have to try the “Youtube Gaming” service before i say anything more about It (pros and cons). However, I have signed up for the service, so “hopefully” I will be able to try It Soon. Especially due to the fact that “Youtube Gaming” Is set for a launch In the UK and US this summer (Google has not nailed down any specific release date at this time).

In other words, we should see a launch of “Youtube Gaming” within the next few months. So until then, game on people!

“Live streams bring the gaming community closer together, so we’ve put them front-and-center on the YouTube Gaming homepage. And in the coming weeks, we’ll launch an improved live experience that makes it simpler to broadcast your gameplay to YouTube. On top of existing features like high frame rate streaming at 60fps, DVR, and automatically converting your stream into a YouTube video, we’re redesigning our system so that you no longer need to schedule a live event ahead of time. We’re also creating single link you can share for all your streams.

YouTube Gaming will be available this summer, starting in the U.S. and U.K. We’re building this just for gamers—so we want to hear from you about how we can make it the best way to connect with your community. If you’re at E3 next week, come by our booth for an early look at everything we’ve been working on. If not, tune in live from home at youtube.com/e3, head over to gaming.youtube.com and follow us @YouTubeGaming and you’ll be the first to know when YouTube Gaming is ready for you to play with.” – Alan Joyce, Product Manager, recently played “Final Fantasy XIV
