I´m going to be very, very honest with you guys now. When i booted up Diablo 3 for the very first time (two weeks after the release back in 2012, because of serious server errors).
It was not quite the sequel to Diablo II that i wanted. Don´t get me wrong, Diablo 3 ain´t a all through bad game (and “Reaper of Souls” is one step in the right direction).
But everyone that has played Diablo 3 knows more than well, that the game doesn´t offer the same kind of top-notch gameplay experience as Diablo II did (and that´s probarly why a lot of people play Diablo 2 Median XL).
And that was something that other developers saw as well (that Blizzard fumble with the ball). And i bet that hack and slash RPG´s such as “Path of Exile” and “Torchlight 2”, has quite a few ex Diablo 3 players. Of whom won´t comeback to Diablo 3 anytime soon.
And when i heard about the South Korean studio Smile Gate (and Tripod Studio´s) and their upcoming hack and slash RPG “Lost Ark” (thanks to Athene).
Well, i can tell you this much. Blizzard better watch, because Lost Ark (the game uses the Unreal engine btw) seems to be the game that Diablo 3 should have been from the very start. You don´t have to take my word on it though.
Just watch the 8 minute long trailer for Lost Ark instead, because it speaks for itself!
