Well, that sure came out of nowhere. Yes, I’m of course referring to Nintendo’s brand-new Nintendo Direct mini video (you can watch the video further down the page!). Anyways, thanks to our friends over at Nintendo Sweden (Bergsala AB) we were given quite a lot of information about the said video. So here’s what Nintendo Sweden told us (it’s a rough translation from Swedish to English, so I’m sorry if it’s not 100% accurate):

“Nintendo released today a new Nintendo Direct Mini presentation focusing on a selection of first and second-party titles that will come to Nintendo Switch early in 2018. As a follow-up to a very strong Christmas trade, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to look forward against many different games and much content within the next few months. This includes Dark Souls: Remastered, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Tennis Aces and Kirby Star Allies for Nintendo Switch. In addition, a certain green-dressed brother comes in with a brand new game mode for the Super Mario Odyssey. Dark Souls, the first title in the re-defining action-roll game series comes to Nintendo Switch like Dark Souls: Remastered. This game also includes the Atorias of the Abyss DLC package as well as enhanced image speed and screen resolution compared to the original version. This is the first game from the series released on Nintendo’s platforms and now for the first time ever, this highly regarded (and challenging) game can be enjoyed while on the go. Mario Tennis Aces offers a whole new level of skill and competitive spirit when the game is released to Nintendo Switch. Mario steps into the plan in classic Nintendo clothes for intense matches against a wide selection of characters. You will face new challenges that test your ability to read the opponent’s position and kind to determine what kind of stroke will benefit you. In this game there is also a story mode for the first time since Mario Tennis on Game Boy Advance. Here you will, among other things, get to do different types of assignments and battles. The game is released to the Nintendo Switch during the spring.

Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong return in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze to Nintendo Switch. With all the fun and challenging of the original, but also a beginner-friendly play mode where you can play as the surfing Funky Kong. Make double jump, litter swap, float and get up quickly in water. Thanks to his surfboard can not even nail him slowly. The game is released to the Nintendo Switch on the fourth of May 2018.

In February, a free update to Super Mario Odyssey will be released. If you download it you will get a new mini-game called Balloon World. However, you must have completed the main mission of the Super Mario Odyssey to gain access to Balloon World and you must find Luigi and talk to him. In the game mode called “Hide It”, players can hide a balloon for a limited time. During the same time you have to find the balloons that other players have hidden. Climb higher up on the ranking list by finding hidden balloons, but also by hiding balloons well for other players. The update also includes new filters for Snapshot Mode and new clothes.
