I had a feeling that there would be a sequel for Supermassive Games PS4-exclusive horror game “Until Dawn”. As the game has received good reviews and positive feedback from the players since its release in August this year. And not only that, “Until Dawn” has also sold really well. In fact, the sales turned out much better than Supermassive Games could ever have dreamed about (mainly thanks to famous Youtube and Twitch “lets players”). So right now there is a discussion going down at Supermassive about doing a sequel to “Until Dawn”. And this is what Pete Samuels (Supermassive Games executive producer) PlayStation Lifestyle just recently:

“It’s definitely surpassed expectations,” he said. “Reports of significant retail outlets running out of stock during the first weeks after release kind of supports that.”

“You should expect the team to build on what we’ve done with Until Dawn, whether it’s in horror or in other genres,” he explained. “We’re already working on one thing that does that, whilst exploring other avenues for our other teams in anticipation of them finishing their current projects.”

“We do talk internally about what Until Dawn 2 could be, as it clearly can’t be a sequel in the traditional sense, with the same characters facing the same threat – not least of which because in different stories some or all of them are already dead,” he detailed.

“We’ve investigated other ways we could do Until Dawn 2, but it probably is a little early to be discussing that.” – Pete Samuels, executive producer Supermassive Games, via PlayStation Lifestyle

So what do you guys think about this? Do you believe that we will see a “Until Dawn 2” in the near future? And are you excited for the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
