Sadly enough, it seems like Paradox and Obsidian´s announcement on Thursday will have zero to none to do with “Vampire The Masquerade”. And this became clear to me when Onyx Path Publishing (they make tabletop RPGs for the World of Darkness/Vampire: The Masquerade) pointed out that Paradox has already stated that the announcement via Twitch will have nothing to do with World of Darkness (VTM is included in that universe):
So I´m sorry people, but I guess that we just have to wait a “little” bit longer for a new “Vampire The Masquerade” title to happen.

It´s been almost 12 years since Troika Games released their epic action/RPG “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines” to the market (November 19th, 2004 to be exact). However, due to the fact that the game sold pretty badly (about 80,000 copies on release) Troika Games got defunct back in 2005. Even so, TMB gained a cult status among the fan community (thus all the mods, fan patches and such). And over time, more and more people have started to play VTM (you can buy the game via GOG or Steam, for example). And that has of course created a hunger for a new “Vampire The Masquerade” title. Well, guess what? There are rumors going around that Obsidian Entertainment “might” unveil a bran-new VTM game during their Twitch Stream on the 15th of March.
However, as much as I would love to see that happen. One should keep in mind that Paradox acquired White Wolf Publishing last year. So that means that Paradox owns the “World of Darkness” and “Vampire: The Masquerade” IP. And from what I´ve been told, White Wolf hasn´t even found any potential partners yet for a new VTM or WOD title. Nevertheless, that sure hasn´t stopped the VTM and WOD fans from speculating about a potential WOD or VTM announcement during Obsidian´s Twitch Stream next Thursday.
I would also like to point out that Paradox has launched a new web page where you get to answer some moral like questions (a personality test):
“HOW’S YOUR POTENTIAL FOR EVIL?
Evil is not a definable concept. As many of our grand strategy players might tell you, it’s more of a viewpoint-thing. Regardless, we’d like to know your potential for what would commonly be considered evil deeds, so we put together this short, highly scientific test! Rest assured the results will only be used for terrible, terrible things.”
And in my opinion, the question’s are somewhat Vampire The Masquerade:ish. Still, It´s much more likely that we´re going to see an “Pillars of Eternity 2” or “Stormlands” (or whatever name the official name will be) announcement though. Especially since Obsidian is working on three projects at the moment (“Vermont” a large, open-world, third-person RPG *Stormlands?*, “Louisiana” a new Kickstarter RPG project and “Indiana” *POE 2?*). Well, we will know for sure when Paradox and Obsidian kicks-off their live stream from GDC at 5 PM on the 15th of March.
With that said, what do you guys and girls think about all of this? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
