I know more than well how hard it is for really small (an relativity unknown) indie developers to reach out with their games. As small time developers tend to be overlooked by the big mass (as they get overshadowed by bigger games and well-known studios). In short, it´s a battle of its own for indie devs to catch the Gaming community’s attention. It´s sad but true. However, we (TGG) always try our very best to help small indie studios with their games (by doing pr and so on). And this time it was Player 2 Game Studios (it´s a two people big indie studio from Barcelona, Spain) that contacted us about their action/strategy game “Alchemic Jousts” (which made me think about a mix of “Plants Vs Zombies” and the old-school robot RTS “Z” for some odd reason).
So I checked “Alchemic Jousts” out, and the game sure seems to live up to the slogan “Simple mechanics. Deep gameplay.”. I also like the idea of using elementals (water, fire, air and earth) to fight 2D strategic battles (you can use spells, different skills and 180 different elements in battle). There is even a resource system in the game as well, plus single Player and Player vs Player modes (and modes such as: combat, endless, King of the Hill, Attack and Capture). You will also get the chance to discover new skills (which you will need in order to beat the tougher enemies further on in the game), and each game in “Alchemic Jousts” offers the chance to get randomized in-game global effects. And that will affect the game’s conditions and outcome for everyone (Player Vs A.i or Player Vs player).
So “if” this sounds like your kind of game. Then you should most definitely give “Alchemic Jousts” a fair chance! And if you just happen to like and enjoy the game. Then show “Alchemic Jousts” some love on Steam Greenlight!
Disclosure:
We (TGG) have no personal relationship (business or non business related) with Player 2 Game Studios whatsoever.
