I can´t say that I´m a huge fan of drama games in general. However, I did indeed enjoy Telltales “The Walking Dead” series. And since I also just happen to like sci-fi a whole lot, I got quite interested in Dizzy Media´s sci-fi/drama/adventure game “Alone without her” (the game will be episodic, just like TWD). Especially since I found the plot of the game to be a rather interesting one:

“Alone Without Her is a Sci-Fi Drama Video Game revolving around the story of a man who loses his wife after attempting a new experiment, one allowing them to be frozen for 1,000 years. Gameplay will be similar to that of telltales TWD games and present a cinematic experience.” – Dizzy Media

Let´s all hope that things don’t end up like it did in “Alien 3″…

And by the looks of the trailers and alpha gameplay videos (the game runs on the Unity engine), “Alone Without her” looks really, really good visually. And based on what I´ve seen so far, the game made me think about a combination of “TWD” goes sci-fi, “Tron”, “Star Trek” and “Omikron: The Nomad Soul”. However, as good as that might sound. There is no release date available for the game (AWH is in development for Windows). Well, at least not yet. Nevertheless, Dizzy Media hopes to deliver the following features (and much more) on release:

– Rich Storyline
– Story Based Gameplay
– Third Person Mechanics by Invector
– Cinematic Cutscenes using Cinema Director Pro
– Animated Character Facial Features
– Character Voice Overs
– Episodic Series (Similar to telltale games)

Love both hurts and brings happiness. So let´s hope for the later (as in a happy ending).

I also came to think about another game while I was going through some pictures for “Alone without her”. And that would be a really old sci-fi/horror game called “Martian Gothic: Unification” (it´s like a sci-fi version of “Resident Evil” for PS1 and Windows). However, I´m not quite sure if there will be any horror elements at all to “Alone with her”, but some of the game’s pictures made me think about “Martian Gothic”.

Sierra sudden death syndrome, is that you?
