As most of your probably know by now, I´m a big sucker for adventure games (especially when it comes to old-school-like point-and-click-adventure games). So I got quite excited when Morphicon contacted us about their upcoming adventure game “Detective Hayseed: Hollywood”. Well, guess what? “Detective Hayseed” has just gone live on Steam Greenlight! And judging by the looks of the trailer, the game will offer quite a lot of crazy characters, dialogs and humor.

The Game:
Detective Hayseed – Hollywood is a classical inspired Point and Click adventure which tells the Story of Detective Hick Hayseed who has to solve the mystery about the stolen list of oscarwinners. The style of the game is of cartoon animations over painted backgrounds. Within each stage there’s one or more tasks to be solved to pick up the next of the series of clues. And, of course, to be able to progress to the next stage. Some of these are logical puzzles, others require persuading a series of game characters to perform tasks so as to provide the vital information. Some require manual dexterity, others a MacGyveresque ability to assemble complex equipment from assorted parts.

The Plot:
The list of Oscar winners has been stolen as part of a nefarious plot to overturn the established Hollywood order. Our hero has to struggle through a series of tests and tasks in order to uncover the clues as to who has done it. And, of course, to stop him carrying out his threat to blow up the entire Oscars ceremony. Along the way he’s going to need your help to do everything from waking up to take his orders, free the space captain from his bondage to working out how to get Xanax into pirhanas. Each test passed reveals more of the necessary clues leading to the successful identification of the villain and his plan. And, of course, his apprehension and the foiling of his dastardly plot.
