I just woke up to the great news that 2Awesome Studio’s is going to release their awesome shoot-em-up game “Dimension Drive“to PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch on the 7th of December this year (don’t miss out on our interview with 2Awesome Studio’s). Yes, it’s 100% true. In the matter of fact, 2Awesome let the whole world know all about it last night:

“We have big news! Dimension Drive is launching on Nintendo Switch and Steam next December 7th. Check out the brand new trailer!” 2Awesome Studio

This is great news for shoot-em-up fans worldwide with no doubt.

So that means that I (and others) finally get a chance to play the complete version of the game (I enjoyed the alpha demo quite a bit two years ago), and just in time for the Christmas season as well =) (I made a review request for the game just now). Nice indeed, and for those who have no idea (whatsoever) what “Dimension Drive” is all about. Here’s a short description of the game:

“2Awesome Studio’s unique teleportation supercharged shoot’em up will make you question what you know about space shooters. Created by two ex-space engineers who wanted to design the game they dreamed of while talking to aliens: spaceships, explosions, sci-fi and a those arcade memories from their childhood that never left them. Developed during the last 3 years, coming from a successful Kickstarter plus 8 months of polishing with bi-weekly updates on Early Access, Dimension Drive is ready to bring a truly new experience to the shoot’em up genre.

Dimension Drive delivers ’80s blistering arcade cabinet gameplay reinvented for modern times. Pilots will have to masterfully shift between dual playing fields in frantic fashion. It’s practically like playing two games at once!”

“Dimension Drive” is with no doubt one of the coolest and most impressing shoot-em-up games that I’ve played in a very long time.

As for features, these are the said launch features for “Dimension Drive”:

Features:
– A New Type of Shoot’Em Up: Dimension Drive is a Dual-Battlefield vertical Shoot’Em Up with a focus on smart, quick teleporting.
– Rich Sci-fi Adventure: Unfold the secrets of the Dimension Drives and your past, teleport across the multiverse fighting the ultimate threat, and meet new races and allies!
– Clever Mix of Mechanics: A seamless combination of levels focusing on strategic shooting and real-time puzzles will make you question what you know about shoot’em ups.
– 2 games on your screen: Dimension drive is a unique shoot’em up where you’re fighting two battle fields at once.
– 4 difficulty modes: Normal, Hard, Extreme and WTF! Offer different challenges for different play styles. Play with shields in Normal, or go to the old-school route with one hit kills in Hard and
– Extreme. If you are up for the challenge try WTF! and try your luck at beating the game with one single hit.
– Single player and local co-op: Play solo or enjoy our unique take on 2 player mode: total cooperative where both players share everything down to their lives, play as a team or die.
– Comicbook art style: Video game meets comic. Experience the story of Jack through the motion comics and awe at the colour rich in-game comic art style. Who said space was black?
– Energy management: The Manticore is powered by the Dimension Drive energy. Carefully strategize and decide when and where are the best places to teleport.
– Advanced scoring system: Obtain the best score in the leaderboards.
– Teleportation! (We said that already, didn’t we?)

dimension drive battle

You will get a whole shower of bullets and enemies (in all sorts of colors and shapes) coming your way in “Dimension Drive”.

Other than that, just recently 2Awesome Studio’s uploaded the launch trailer for the Nintendo Switch version of “Dimension Drive” . So you most definitely don’t want to miss out on that one (you can watch the video further down the page). I also hope that I will be able to sort out some Switch and Steam keys to give away for “Dimension Drive” on release =) (I will do my very best to sort everything out).

And with that said, are you guys and girls excited for “Dimension Drive”? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
