I don’t know if you guys remember the really awesome plot-driven survival co-op game “The Wild Eight”, but We were just informed by Fntastic studio (the makers of “The Wild Eight”) that they are working on a brand-new game called “Dead Dozen” (it’s a multiplayer action horror game for PC):
“Hey guys! I’m Aisen, co-founder of Fntastic studio. We’re excited to share with you DEAD DOZEN Announcement.
DEAD DOZEN is a Multiplayer Action Horror Game where you turn into a ghoul after your death as a human. Loot, barricade and cooperate when you play as a Survivor or infiltrate, infect and eat your former human friends when you play as a Ghoul. DEAD DOZEN is our new project. Previously, we worked on a small game The Wild Eight, which we sold to the publisher. DEAD DOZEN is a new level for us. Hope you support us and publish this Announcement. Thanks a lot!” – Fntastic studio
Cool indeed, but what exactly happened to “The Wild Eight” then? Well, here’s Fntastic studio’s statement about the matter:
“We sold The Wild Eight to our publisher. This decision was very hard for us, because our team was hoping to always evolve the game. The Wild Eight is our debut project, it brought us first success and valuable experience. But nevertheless, because of internal conflict with partners within the company, we had to sell the project to the publisher, who is now successfully supporting the project. We will always love The Wild Eight, it’s in our hearts.” – Fntastic studio
In other words, Fntastic studio is no longer involved in the development process of “The Wild Eight”. That’s sad news of course, but at least Fntastic got “Dead Dozen” in the making. Furthermore, the Alpha 1 version of the game is said to launch for PC in January next year. So at least they got something positive to look forward to =) And speaking of which, you can actually pre-order the early access version “Dead Dozen”:
