Well, look at that. I was just about to go to bed when I spotted an e-mail from HypeTrain Digital. Good thing that, because they informed us about their and Nearga’s upcoming open-world horror survival game “DESOLATE” (the game is said to launch to PC in December this year):
“HypeTrain Digital and NEARGA are inviting you to check out the dark and dangerous Granichny Island in DESOLATE – coming to Steam in December 2017!” – HypeTrain Digital
So what is “DESOLATE” all about then? Well, this is the actual story for the game so far:
“Two years ago Granichny Island became an epicentre of a large-scale disaster of unknown origin. “The New Light” conglomerate covered up this catastrophic event – and now aims to rectify the consequences as much as they can. A massive campaign is underway, during which so-called “Volunteers” are sent out onto Granichny. Their mission – to research the paranormal activities of the island, gathering information and undertaking dangerous tasks, all in hope of amending mistakes of the past.
Play the role of a Volunteer, and explore a place filled with threats of every shape and size – from monsters and madmen to supernatural anomalies and seemingly impossible weather patterns. Journey through the present of this forsaken world to uncover its secrets.”

“Survive, explore and investigate in the dark world of DESOLATE, alone or with friends in a party of four.” – In my case, I would try to join up with as many good fighters as possible, because that would help my odds staying alive for sure.
As features, these are the said launch features:
Features:
– Unite with up to 4 players, or act as a lone wolf to prove your mettle – the choice is yours.
– Explore the enigmatic island to investigate its secrets – find notes and diaries from the island’s previous settlers to uncover its dark past.
– Fight for your life against monsters, other humans, supernatural threats, and even nature itself.
– Unlock new abilities and train them to increase your chances of survival
– Military bases, abandoned settlements, top-secret facilities and other unique locations await a curious explorer – whether you set out to complete a mission or to simply explore the island, you’ll find something new everywhere you look.
– Gather recipes and components to craft, modify and upgrade your weapons and equipment.
– Customize your Volunteer with new clothing and armor you scavenge among the wastes.
Other than that, I/we were given the very first gameplay trailer for “DESOLATE” (you can watch that one further down the page), and I have to say that I like what I’ve seen from the game so far =) And by the looks of it, we (TGG) have been invited to give the game a try. So I’m up for the job for sure, because I love survival horror games (especially the kind that offers an open-world which you can explore and experience tons of adventures in). That’s also why I hope that I will get a chance to play “DESOLATE” as soon as possible. In other words, “if” everything goes according to plans; I should be able to do so sometime in December this year.

In other words, we are to be sent out to do the dirty and dangerous work. Oh well, no one wants to live forever I suppose.
And with that said, what’s your take on “DESOLATE”? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
