I know that John Romero has said some quite stupid stuff in the past (Daikatana anyone?). However, nowadays Romero is really laid back and more humble. And every now and then I manage to spot some cool news via him. Well, today was such a day. As Romero let the whole world know what a cool game AKGames is working on, and the game in question would be the story-based Post-cyberpunk adventure/action game “MegaSphere” (which, in my opinion, looks like an Abuse/Super Metroid/B.O.B cyberpunk hybrid). And I have to say that I´m really impressed by the game so far (I have tried the early access version via Steam).
So what is “MegaSphere” all about then? Well, you play as a special ops combat unit (in the in early 22nd century) which is sent out to investigate why the stars around Solar System are going dark. And that “investigation” turns out to be anything but a walk in the park. As your investigation involves smart guns, explosions, waves of enemies and intense action moments. Something of which I really enjoy (as I´m a fan of games such as Abuse and Super Metroid). So if you like that kind of games as well, then you should most definitely give “MegaSphere” a go! (you can download and try the demo first if you´re not quite sure if this is your cup of tea or not).
