I was really disappointed when Michael Mendheim (one of the creators of “Mutant League Football” and the spiritual successor “Mutant Football League“) and Digital Dreams Entertainment failed to reach their $750,000 Kickstarter goal back in October 2013. As I truly enjoyed playing “Mutant League Football” on my Mega Drive as a kid. So I honestly never thought that I would never see “Mutant Football League” again, as the Kickstarter campaign flooped pretty hard. Well, i´m glad to inform you all that I was wrong. Because Michael Mendheim and “Mutant League Football” is very much alive and kicking!

Mutant League Football was originally released to Mega Drive (and SEGA Genesis) back in 1993. And that´s the game which MFL is heavily based on (Michael Mendheim has worked with both MLF and MFL).
In fact, Digital Dreams Entertainment brought a whole lot of noise to their MFL PAX Prime booth less than a week ago (just check out PC Gamer´s gameplay video!). And so far it seems like MFL (Mutant Football League) is doing really well, as fans of the old “Mutant League Football” game appear to like MFL a whole lot (that can also be said about the Gaming media as a whole). And that even though the game is still in the pre-alpha stage (MFL runs on the Unity Engine by the way).

Mutant Football League looks and feels bloody great. But will that be enough to impress the big masses?
Nevertheless, I have to say that I’m rather impressed by “Mutant Football League” uptil this point, and Digital Dreams Entertainment have promised the players that there will be tons of deadly traps, weapons, dangerous weather conditions and maximum carnage on the football field (plus a lot gross-out humor and brutality on top of that) in MFL (which will be released to Windows, PS4 and Xbox One). I don´t know about you, but I really like the sound of that. As it will make every game truly interesting to play (and watch). So who knows? MLB might even become an E-Sport thing in the near future? Time will tell, personally I just hope that I will get the chance to play MLB on my PC asap!
