I (Robin Ek, TGG) just found out about a truly promising and cool looking 2D adventure game called “NetherWorld” (the game is being developed by Daniel Barreno and Isabel Raposo). Furthermore, while I was watching the trailer for “NetherWorld” (you will find the trailer further down the page) I just couldn’t help to think about a mix of “Heart of Darkness“, “Another World” and “Don´t Look Back“. Simply put, this is a really interesting game with no doubt (“NetherWorld” is said to launch to PC in mid-2018).

“NetherWorld” looks freaking awesome so far (“Heart of darkness” anyone?).

So, what exactly is “NetherWorld ” all about then? Well, there isn’t much information about the game just yet, but this is what’s known so far:

“NetherWorld is a story rich 2D adventure Game with a decadent atmosphere and an organic world with action elements and focus on the narrative and dialogue. All efforts put into this game are focused on creating a world that feels alive. You can talk to all NPCs, help them… or not, make them your friends… or enemies. The combat system is based on two types of weapons, firearms and melee weapons, each of these weapons has its own characteristics, for example the torch will burn enemies, and the hammer will crush them. You can also protect yourself with shields.

Fights are very important in this title. You will combat giant, grotesque and peculiar bosses most of the time. Each of them has a specific and genuine combat system. NetherWorld has a dark and ghostly artistic section, with life-like, simple and attractive pixel art graphics. The music will also accompany, with dark compositions that will give us goose bumps on certain occasions.”Daniel Barreno and Isabel Raposo

“NetherWorld” is said to contain “Sexual and drugs references”, “Bad language and cartoon violence” and a “wicked sense of humor”. Well, I don’t know about you, but I really like the sound of that.

Other than that, these are the said features for “NetherWorld”:

Features:
– Story rich
– Simple and attractive pixel art style developed for this game
– Rich dialogue
– A bunch of weapons and accessories
– Attractive atmosphere
– A huge number of NPCs with their own behavior
– Sexual and drugs references
– Bad language and cartoon violence
– Dark, bloody and twisted
– wicked sense of humor

It’s also worth mentioning that you can sign up for the beta of the game via NetherWorld’s homepage (I just did that myself). As awesome as that is though, I have no idea whatsoever when the beta will drop. Nevertheless, I’m pretty darn excited to give “NetherWorld” a try =) (the full version will launch to PC in mid-2018).

And with that said, what’s your take on “NetherWorld”? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
