You know what they say about time and having fun right? Well, there’s quite a lot of truth to that saying. Yes, I’m of course referring to the part about time going faster when you’re having fun. You see, it’s been about three months since we published our PC review of Tomlab Games brain-exercise puzzler “Pictopix“. So as you might imagine, I got quite pleasantly surprised when Tomlab Games informed us that they have just released their anniversary update for “Pictopix”:
“Hello, it is with great pleasure that I present the Anniversary Update! Here’s what you’ll find in the new version of Pictopix:
45 new puzzles
Bigger puzzles up to 40 x 40
New achievements
New secrets
Zoom button for big grids
According to my tests and calculations the time needed to solve the 45 new puzzles is longer than it was for all 155 initial puzzles! I was astonished to discover that the total playing time is more than doubled with this latest update. I therefore hope that you’ll be happy with it! The update is available for free on Steam!” – Tomlab Games

There are over 150 beautiful colored puzzles for you to enjoy in “Pictopix”. So that should keep you occupied for quite some time with no doubt.
In other words, that’s some truly great news for those who are fans of “Pictopix” =) Other than that, Tomlab Games also had us know that 2017 was a really awesome year for “Pictopix” in general:
“2017 was a great year for Pictopix! In particular, the game has been listed as one of the “Top Best Bestest Games Of 2017 So Far” at Rock, Paper, Shotgun! It’s a great achievement for me ^^
Some players have expressed the wish to play a DRM-Free version of Pictopix on gog.com. It’s quite possible to envisage this. Even if the game will lack the Workshop, I could leave the puzzle editor in there. I will study the question before contacting gog.com. In the meantime I suggest you show your interest in Pictopix by voting on this topic created by a player: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/pictopix” – Tomlab Games

Even if you manage to playthrough all of the included puzzles in “Pictopix”, then you still got plenty of new puzzles to play thanks to the community created puzzles.
So with that said, don’t miss out on the free anniversary update for “Pictopix” (you can watch the anniversary trailer down below).
