It seems like New Zealand will become the next big Gaming nation In the world. Because Mido Basims “Spectrum” (a puzzle/platforming game for PC and OUYA) are like, the third New Zealand game that I´ve have seen in less than a month now.

spectrum

Spectrum feels and looks like a mix of Comix Zone and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee.

But from what I have heard, that´s because the indie scene are growing like hell In New Zealand now. So we are most likely to se even more games from New Zealand In the near future.

Anyhow, i just watched the Kickstarter trailer for Spectrum.

And i really enjoyed it, so hope that there will be some kind of “Christmas miracle” in the case with Spectrum. Because Spectrum is $9,000 short at the moment.

So i wish the people at Mido Basim the best of luck with their Kickstarter campaign!

About Spectrum:
Spectrum is a side scrolling 2D game. An addictive puzzle platformer that challenges the player to use their mind and patience to progress through the game in a beautiful hand painted art world.

Tadashi is the main character in Spectrum. He is trying to figure out what happened to him and how to escape this mysterious world. He discovers that he can’t attack or kill any thing. However, he can change colours to interact with the environment.

There are 11 levels to discover and over 30 puzzles to solve. Spectrum’s art is hand painted with spectacular soundtracks to immerse the player into the world of Spectrum.
