Yes, it’s that time of the year again, and I’m not just talking about Christmas here. No, I’m referring to the 8th Annual Indie of the Year Awards as well. You see, IndieDB has just kick-off their 2017 indie of the year awards:
“Today marks day one of the 8th Annual Indie of the Year Awards. A celebration of the years finest independent games picked by the gaming community. December 1st, 2017 – The 8th Annual Indie of the Year Awards have officially kicked off. A voting booth has been added to all indie profiles on IndieDB, and for the next four weeks player votes will determine the top 100 (announced December 11) and the overall winner announced shortly after Christmas.
Last year the community voted 94,489 times, and we saw plenty of hard work pay off for RimWorld who won the players choice after exploding in popularity on Steam. It wasn’t alone with SUPERHOT smashing its way into second place and Stardew Valley taking out third. They are joined by previous winners including Minecraft and Chivalry.
From now until the close of 2017, join us in celebrating the phenomenal work indie developers do, in pursuit of creating something remarkable for us gamers to enjoy. For more information on the event including a live scoreboard and how to vote head over to the official awards page.” – Indie DB
In other words, Gamers can now vote for their favourite indie games (there are +10,000 different games to pick from as of now) and help to shape the top 100 indie games list for this year’s edition of IndieDB’s indie of the year awards =) Keep this in mind though, the nomination process ends in nine days. So don’t wait too long to cast your vote on the games that you would like to see on IndieDB’s top 100 indie games for 2017 list.
And with that said, which games will you vote for? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
