It seems like the pirate theme is once again raising on the Gaming horizon, because it´s been quite a whole since I’ve seen this many pirate games in the making (like the awesome pirate FPS game “Blackwake” for example). However, this time it´s not an FPS nor an RPG game. No, it´s a nautical sandbox game (the game does have RPG elements though) that offers naval battles in an isometric view (think “Civilization” or the old PS1 game “Overboard“). And the game in question is no other than “The Inner Sea“.

“You’re going to need a bigger boat”. Yep, “The Inner Sea” is full of sea monsters such as this.

A game which takes place during the XVII century (thus the pirate theme and all the naval battles), and during that time, there were a lot of myths about sea monsters and plenty of pirates and sea battles. And that´s exactly what “The Inner Sea” is all about. So you will get the chance to battle both sea monsters and other pirates just like yourself (there will also be plenty of missions for you to complete). And the Archipelago world of The Inner Sea” is randomly generated as well, so that will do wonders on the replay value front for sure.

You (the player) will even be able to customize your ship, and you can recruit and develop your crew as well (your ship crew gains experience for each battle that they take part in, and for each accomplished mission, they get an experience boost as well). So I’m rather curious to see what the two men sized “The Inner Sea” indie team will be capable of (since it´s their first game). Well, so far so good. So I’m going to keep my eyes open for “The Inner Sea” on Steam Greenlight!
