Today is a good day if you just happen to like games such as “Minecraft”, “Animal Crossing” and “Harvest Moon, why? Because Plukit just informed me (Robin Ek, TGG) that their upcoming voxel-based sandbox farming game “Staxel” is coming to Steam in January 2018:

“Developed by Plukit — a studio founded by former Starbound programmer Bart van der Werf and artist SteampunkStein — Staxel is a voxel-based sandbox farming game inspired by Minecraft and town-life classics such as Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. As the newest resident of a rustic village, players put down roots into a new life as a farmer. Carefully tend to your farm to make it grow, improve your property’s looks and take care of your animals — the more work you put in, the more rewards you’ll receive!

Villages are filled with colorful characters with whom you can socialize with between online multiplayer sessions with your friends, unlocking rewards to help develop your land into a thriving farmstead. When not farming, enjoy fun hobbies like fishing, catching bugs and cooking! In Staxel, you shape the world around you how you see fit, with your creativity being the number one tool for the job!

Staxel will be available in January 2018 for Windows PC. Staxel – Sprout Edition, an early version of the game, is now available for $15.00.” – Plukit

“Staxel” does indeed look like a mix of “Minecraft”, “Harvest Moon” and “Animal Crossing”.

Great news indeed, but what about features then? Well, these are the said launch features for “Staxel”:

– Explore New Hobbies: Take a break from farming to pursue new hobbies like fishing, catching bugs and cooking.
– Customize, Customize, Customize: With a rich selection of in-game materials and easy-to-use modding features, you can customize your farm and home any way you’d like. Extensive character customization is also available to create a character unique to you.
– Invite Your Friends: With online multiplayer, it’s easy to invite your friends to join you on your farm to relax and socialize.

I guess this is what would happen if “Minecraft” and “Harvest Moon” had a baby together, cute :3

Other than that, it’s said that there will be a brand-new hands-on version of “Staxel” exclusively at Gamescom 2017 (that version includes new seasons, village extensions and more advanced food and building materials).
