Ever since i was born i have been surrounded by cats. My grandmother had cats, my grandfather had cats and my friends had cats. So cats has been a big part of my life since day one. And as i grew older (when the big anime/manga wave hit Europe in the early 90s) i started to notice that cats played a huge part in comics (catwoman), anime (Dominion Tank Police, Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, ThunderCats) and video games (Felicia from Darkstalkers and Cait Sith from Final Fantasy for example).
So i got really excited when i heard about Valhalla Cats (which would be an independent developer studio from Murcia, Spain) adventure/platformer “The Purring Quest” (the game is set for a release sometime this summer for Windows). As the game is all about cats. In fact, one of the main goals in the game is to rescue cats.
And you literally get the chance to become a cat in “The Purring Quest”, as you do everything that cats do (climb trees, fight dogs ect). And i´m very happy to inform you guys/girls that TPQ has been Greenlit on Steam Greenlight as well. So TPQ is set for a release on Steam sometime this summer =) And a percentage of the profits from the sells will go directly to various animal welfare associations.
So it´s a win-win situation for everyone really. Well, at least if you´re a lover of cats. I should also point out that TPQ looks really great as well, and that´s thanks to the fact that the TPQ animator has worked with studios such as Warner and Disney. So if you like the sound of that, then keep yours eyes (and ears) open for “The Purring Quest”.
