I honestly had no idea whatsoever that it’s been such a long time since we wrote anything about Neoclassic Games and their game projects. As a matter of fact, the last time that we wrote about Neoclassic Games was when David published his PC review for Neoclassic’s visual novel “Elisa: The Innkeeper“. Well, that review was published back in July of last year. So it has indeed been a very long time since we covered anything related to Neoclassic.

elisa the innkeeper elisa

Neoclassic Games visual novel “Elisa: The Innkeeper” launched for PC back in June of 2016, and from its release up to now, the game has received a lot of positive feedback and reviews via Steam.

Well, the silence was just broken as Neoclassic informed us that they have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming RPG visual novel hybrid “Lisistrata”:

“Greetings, my name is Piero Mazza, lead developer at Neoclassic Games. We are currently conducting a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for our latest game, called Lisistrata. It is a VN-RPG hybrid where the player has to manage several girls in an Ancient Greece settings. Lisistrata is the protagonist; she and her companions fight to keep control of the Acropolis and to gain the upper hand against their husbands.

The game idea is to spice up the usual Visual Novel content, which will drive the storyline, with RPG elements; leveling up girls and building/improving parts of the Acropolis is going to be key for success. We chose to develop this kind of game after having a good feedback from our first game, Elisa: the Innkeeper, where we wrote a branching story VN with several different endings. We think that Lisistrata is the right way to expand on this ideaNeoclassic Games

lisistrata greece

“Lisistrata” takes place in ancient Greece, and you (the player) will get the great pleasure to recruit, train and lead a team of young girls from Athen through battles, challenges, hard choices and much more.

That sure sounds very interesting and all, but what exactly is “Lisistrata” all about then? Well, here are the actual plot and setting of the game:

“Immersed in an ancient Greece setting, you will recruit, train and lead a team of Athens’ young girls through battles, challenges, critical choices and beyond. It will be up to you to organize an effective rebellion against every man of Athens. It will be your responsibility to stop a war that has been endured for decades. Once inside the Acropolis everything will be in your hands. Choose different skills, improve buildings, devise new tactics, betray, seduce, be a diplomat or a warrior. The game (and its characters) will be shaped entirely by you.

Inspired by Aristophanes’ great work

Also known as the “Father of Comedy” and “The Prince of Ancient Comedy”, Aristophanes lived between 446 – 386 BC and inspired thousands of people in ancient Greece. We would like to do the same by bringing his legendary work back to life and expanding upon its original linearity while still remaining faithful to the source.”

lisistrata seduction

Romance and seduction is going to play a big role in “Lisistrata”.

So, what about features then? Well, these are some of the said launch features for “Lisistrata”:

Features:
– Level up and make your build unique (there are 34 skills gathered in four different branches)
– Build the Acropolis
– Your skills under a magnifying glass
– Turn based combat
– The storyline of Lisistrata is going to be deep and non-linear
– A beautiful ancient Greece inspired soundtrack by Vindsvept
– Colorful and dynamic characters
– Lisistrata RPG visual novel hybrid

lisistrata lisistratas oath

“Lisistrata” is said to launch for PC in November of this year, if the game gets fully funded on Kickstarter that is.

Those are some rather impressive features with no doubt, but “Lisistrata” needs to collect 5,000 Euros on Kickstarter within 25 days henceforth in-order to become a fully developed a release ready game. Nevertheless, “Lisistrata” is off to a good start since the game has already managed to raise over 2,200 Euros in just a couple of days. So I’m pretty sure that Neoclassic Games will reach their Kickstarter goal on time.

As for me, I found Lisistrata’s trailers to be rather impressive and cool looking (you can watch the latest trailer for “Lisistrata” further down the page). So I bet that fans of visual novels will enjoy the trailers just as much as I have =)

And with that said, what’s your take on “Lisistrata” so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
