Not so long ago board games was something of the past. But ever since Kickstarter toke off big time, more and more board games has seen the day of light over the past two years (or so).
And a really good example of that, would be Oriental Excess “Tokyo Yakuza” (it´s a card/board game).
Which takes place in an alternative universe where Japan won world war II. And in the year 2020 the Yakuza starts World War III. Sounds pretty interesting huh? And thanks to Kickstarter (and the backers), Tokyo Yakuza will indeed happen.

A one of the many cards from “Tokyo Yakuza”. And by the looks of it, someone is having a really, really bad day.
Because the original goal was to raise $1,000, and at this very moment Tokyo Yakuza has collected almost $1,900! And there´s still 10 days left on the Kickstarter campaign as well.
So Oriental Excess might add some more cool stuff to Tokyo Yakuza, IF they manage to raise enough money that is. I should also point out that i chatted with mr Nick Phillips (the project leader behind “The Tokyo Yakuza anthology project”) some days ago.
And there´s plans on a Tokyo Yakuza video game. Not for now though, but there will be such a game sometime in the future. And i really like the thought of that. But for now, i´ll just have to wait until i can get my hands on the board game version.
There´s one more thing that i can add to this topic though. “The company board” did a really good interview with Godan Takami from Oriental Excess just recently. So check that one out!
