As you might remember, I did mention just recently that I intended to do an interview with SwimsuitSuccubus. Well, as I´m a person who keeps my promises no matter what. I sorted out the interview before I went to bed last night. So I asked SwimsuitSuccubus about everything from her naughty pictures, cosplay, Gaming, censorship to her favorite anime and mangas. And with that said, please enjoy my interview =)

I think that we could start off this interview by having you doing a little introduction of yourself. So, please go ahead.

I’m known as SwimsuitSuccubus, you can call me Su or Susu. I just turned 25 this August and have been sharing my photos online for about a year now. I never anticipated that I’d receive so much support and am grateful to all my fans for helping me succeed!

Do you remember when you started to get interested in the cosplay scene, and why? I would also like to know how you came up with your nickname “SwimsuitSuccubus”?

My interest in cosplay first started in middle school when I discovered Deviantart.com. I loved video games and anime. However, at the time anime was a very niche interest. The only way I could find other people to talk about it with were through online forums where users would upload their fanart and link their Deviantart accounts. When I first saw photos of people actually dressed as my favorite characters my mind was blown! I really wanted to do it myself but I only had one other friend who also liked games and anime as much as I did and no resources to learn how to even begin making cosplays.

I came up with the name “SwimsuitSuccubus” partially based off of one of my favorite video game characters, Morrigan Aensland from Darkstalkers. I idolized her because she was openly and extremely confident in herself. I was always told by others to be humble and modest but here was Morrigan saying “My victories, like my beauty are eternal!” and defeating her enemies in a thong.

The swimsuit part I believe is obvious but I chose to focus more on swimwear simply because I love swimming. Convenience was also a factor since I already owned several bikinis and one-piece suits.

I´ve been told that you have just completed one cosplay this far (teen Titans, but I think you did Azula from “Avatar” and Hermione from “Harry Potter” as well?), so do you have any plans for any future cosplays? And which cosplays would you like to do?

I was commissioned by a fan to do a bikini Azula in which I’m wearing a custom-made bikini by Swimxotic and I wore a Hermione costume for last year’s Halloween and for this year’s midnight release of the new “Cursed Child” book. To clarify, I haven’t yet made my own cosplays and have given credit to the actual creators on the photos themselves on my twitter and facebook.

Though recently I’ve done a lot of research into making things myself and am currently making a new belt for Raven as well as working on sewing the shirt and creating a spear for my upcoming Pearl from Steven Universe cosplay. I’m still inexperienced so I’m only making simple pieces myself at this time.

I commissioned Aniki Cosplay to make me a Hanaranger Sakura costume from the Super Sentai series Kakuranger and Adaria-designs to make Shunya Yamashita’s Bishoujo Raven costume.

Based on the tweets that I´ve seen from you, I take it that you enjoy games and Gaming quite a bit as well? So perhaps you could let us know which games you like the most at the moment?

I play a lot of indie games on steam, my favorites being Don’t Starve and Don’t Starve Together by Klei Entertainment. I’ve invested over 300 hours all together in both. I also enjoy Guild Wars 2 and have 5 level 80 characters because character creation is one of my favorite aspects of MMO’s. I’ve gotten back into the Pokemon franchise due to the upcoming release of Sun and Moon. I just beat Pokemon X and am finishing up Alpha Sapphire. I play Disgaea 5 and Overwatch on PS4 and can’t wait for Persona 5 and Dragonball Xenoverse 2!

When I’m more skilled at costume creation I would love to dress as T-elos from Xenosaga or Talim from Soul Calibur.

How did you start off as a swimsuit and lingerie model? Was it something that you always wanted to do? Or was it something that just “happened”?

SwimsuitSuccubus
It really was just something that happened spontaneously. I was working 3 jobs at one point trying to pay off my college debt and accrued medical bills but I wasn’t making fast enough progress due to my declining health and just kept sinking further into debt. At this time I had restaurant and retail jobs and was doing freelance art.

At one point some people who enjoyed my art were curious to see what I looked like so I posted a photo and got a lot of compliments. Some people privately contacted me saying they would pay for sexier photos and I thought it would be a nice way to earn a bit more money just to get out of debt. I never thought my photos would gain so much attention and that it would take on a life of it’s own.

Once my photo sales started making a huge positive impact on my financial situation I began investing more time in it until all my debts were gone and I finally had the free time to pursue my other passions like volunteer work and learning other languages. I’m very happy finally being in a position where I have the opportunity to give back to my community and expand my mind. I can now speak Spanish, am learning Japanese and love spoiling my two adopted cats.

What´s your take on all the censorship nonsense (removed lewd content, for example) that´s been going down in the games industry as of lately? (“Criminal Girls 2”, “Street Fighter V”, “Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE” with many more).

I think game designers have the right to make whatever changes they see fit as long as it doesn’t destroy an integral part of the gameplay. I mean, I was bummed when Xenoblade Chronicles X removed the breast size slider in character customization but changes like that don’t really take away from the overall gaming experience.

The only censorships that upset me are when entire games aren’t released to American audiences like what happened with DOA 3 or when artists posting NSFW fanart to adult sites and using responsible content filters have their creations deleted due to copyright infringement claims.

I also have a follow-up question on the same topic, what´s your thoughts on the “aggressive navel” hysteria when it comes to cosplays at Comic-Con´s, Gaming events and such? (I guess that won´t be the case in Australia once SEXPO kicks-off in November).

Since I’m new to the cosplay scene, I had to google what that meant. It sounds like some cons are cracking down on dress code which I understand would upset a lot of people. I’m on the fence about it myself because though my work entails showing  a lot of skin, most conventions are all ages events. When I dressed as Raven, so many children wanted to take photos with me. Adults aren’t the only fans of games, anime and superheroes so they often have to share convention space with underaged atendees. I believe there is a time and a place for everything and I personally would not feel comfortable showing a ton of skin at a con where I know little kids will be.

On the other hand, I don’t think belly buttons are scandalous enough to censor and dress code rules at cons should be fair versus overly strict.

Do you work out a lot and keep a strict diet in-order to stay in shape? Or are you one of those lucky few people who can eat pretty much anything without gaining any weight?

I’m quick to lose weight, unfortunately. Being underweight has caused me several health issues in the past so now I do my best to make sure I eat enough to gain and maintain a healthy weight. For me, that means eating a bit more than the average person and having to stay active. I have a gym membership and spend most of my time on the cycling and stair climbing machines as well as treadmill and the leg press. Nothing too strenuous.

Do you enjoy animes and mangas? If so, which ones and why? And are there any cosplayers, swimsuit/ lingerie models that you admire and look up to?

Right now I’m watching Re: Zero and Mob Psycho 100 which have both been super interesting and immersive animes. I really enjoy Subaru’s character developement and think it was a very brave choice to make him unlikeable at times. The art and humor of Mob Psycho 100 keeps me hooked! I’ve been watching anime since elementary school and started with the usual 90’s kid shows like DBZ, Sailor Moon and Pokemon. I got into manga in middle school via my public library and I read Inuyasha, YuYu Hakusho, Yu-Gi-Oh! and moved on to ecchi/fighting series like Tenjou Tenge, Airgear, Ikkitousen and Strawberry 100% in highschool.

As for models and cosplayers I admire, the first cosplayer I became a huge fan of was Enji Knight. I had liked other cosplayers before but Enji is extremely cute, very talented and has such a positive attitude and presence in the cosplay community. My friends Danielle Vedovelli, KayyyBear, Yoonie, MidnaAsh, Krissy Victory, and Momokun inspire me as well by doing what they enjoy and even making a business of it. I also like ero-cosplayers like Non Summer Jack, and my friends Bayonet Cosplay, OhaiNaomi, Ero Hime and Kinkywaifu.

Though I enjoy cosplay in all forms, lewd and safe for work, I’m mainly inspired by Japanese idols like Iiniku Ushijima, Ai Shinozaki and Amemiya Luna. Gravure is very enjoyable to me because it showcases both the sensuality and cute charm of women in a way I don’t see too often in American modeling. Gravure tends to have a very fun, light-hearted feel which is what I like to try to emulate in my photos.

I don´t know if it´s just me, but I have noticed that more and more females are posting lewd stuff on the Internet as of lately (it doesn´t have to be pictures of themselves, it could be from video games, animes, mangas or whatever). So I don´t know if it´s just a trend right now, or if it means that females are getting into that kind of stuff as well (I´m of course not 100% sure if they are straight, bi or lesbian though). And that makes me wonder what you think about lewd content in general?

Women have always enjoyed such content but most have been too embarrassed to come forth and say it. As more women become upfront with their sexuality, it inspires and paves the way for others to feel comfortable being honest publically.

I think it’s great and hope this trend continues as the world accepting healthy sexual expression is something I believe is long overdue.

Which swimsuit, lingerie and cosplay sets are you most proud of so far, and why?

My favorites are my most recent solo ones like the Rave, Goth, Bunny and Azula sets since they’re the best in terms of lighting and posing in my opinion. I also really like my Easter Bunnies set with my friend Pekolux because she’s a great person and wonderful to work with.

My most popular set is my Library Lingerie one from 2015. It was the first image of me that went viral on reddit and really launched my lewd career.

I´ve got yet another personal question, do you have any tattoos? If no, have you ever had any thoughts about getting one? If yes, do you plan to get more?

I´m most likely not the only person who wonders if you have to deal with a lot of salty comments from jealous people (due to your goodness-like looks). So, out of pure curiosity, do you use that hate to fuel your success? Or do you just ignore it all together?

The hate I get is always one of the following: attacks based on my physical appearance, people who don’t agree with the way I make money or people who have different morals than I do.

None of these attacks hold any significant weight to me as I was prepared for them when I decided to put myself out there. It just comes with the job territory. Sometimes it can get exhausting to frequently see how awful some people can be. We humans could go extinct before we ever make contact with any other intelligent life form in the universe. RIght now, we’re all we have yet people expend energy on hating each other over nonsense.

This might be an odd question, but it´s something that I thought of right now. Have you told your family and friends about your “work”? If so, what was that experience like? (I would have been rather nervous myself, but that´s just me).

As for my family and friends, not all of them agree with what I’m doing but it’s mainly based off of concern for me. Profiting off of sexuality makes you a huge target for scrutiny and cruelty. I personally don’t let the negativity discourage me but most of us care a lot more about what people say of our loved ones than what they say about ourselves so I understand why they worry. The main thing I was thinking about when telling them was making sure they understood that the job of being an internet personality is a lot less dangerous than they were making it out to be.

Regardless, they all support me and some of my friends even started getting into posting lewd photos too.

Do you create your own clothes by any chance? And how do you come up with your ideas for your lewd photo shoots? I mean, do the ideas just come to you? Or do you exchange ideas with fans and whatnot? And is there any limits to what you would and wouldn´t do? (there is no way in hell that I would get anywhere near snakes, for example).

I’ve had two custom bikinis created for me by Swimxotic, the ones I wore in my Azula and Easter Bunnies sets and all of my Realise brand swimsuits come from SleequeMystique. I haven’t made any of my own outfits, yet.

Usually themes for sets are based off of both my own ideas and the creative input I get from my supporters on Patreon.

As for limits, like I always say, no nudes just lewds. Also no pandering to teen-philes no matter how many times they repost my photos and tag them as “teen”.

I would like to launch my youtube channel soon where I showcase my outfits and costumes and even try my hand at DIY crafts for cosplays. Just something to show my supporters a bit of my personality since they’ve already seen a lot of my butt.
