I’m quite sure that the most of you are more than aware that there has been a whole lot of drama going down on Steam in terms of lewd games as of lately. Well, for now it seems like Valve will leave the lewd games alone on Steam (at least for now). Even so, the outcome of it all have left a lot of lewd game developers rather nervous and shaken up. So I can’t say that I’m surprised to hear that Reine Works and Top Hat Studios Inc. are playing it safe with the Steam launch of their lewd +18 Yuri fantasy/romance title “The Wilting Amaranth”.

The Wilting Amaranth is a short yuri (GxG) romance visual novel based very loosely on a familiar fairy tale. In other words, you can expect to see quite a few girl-on-girl scenes in this game.

“The Wilting Amaranth” may be toned down on Steam, but the free +18 patch restores the lewd content to the game with no sweat.

My point would be that “The Wilting Amaranth” has been toned down to fit Steam’s policy regarding lewd content, don’t worry though! Because you could download a free +18 patch for “The Wilting Amaranth”. In other words, if you install that patch, then all the lewd content will be restored to “The Wilting Amaranth”. Anyways, I think you get the idea. So here’s what Top Hat Studios Inc. told us about the matter:

“Following the release of otome visual novel “The Seven Districts of Sin: The Tail Makes the Fox”, female gaming-centered studio Reine Works and publisher Top Hat Sudios have partnered once more to release “The Wilting Amaranth”, a yuri (GxG) visual novel loosely based on a fairy tale. As of June 5th, it’s launched on Steam with a 10% discount until June 11th; https://store.steampowered.com/app/867700/The_Wilting_Amaranth/.

Reine Works describes the story as the following; “Three women, bound together by the threads of fate, overlap paths within the infamous Witch’s Tower. Each of them, with their own unfortunate circumstances, are merely struggling to live within a society that rejects their true selfs. Can there really be a happy ending when they are going against the very nature of society…?”. The game centers on themes of love, rejection, and finding your place in society.

Following Steam’s recent policy, content has been cut form the game to make it suitable for the platform, but the developer is offering a free patch to restore 18+ scenes here; https://itch.io/t/235905/18-content-patch

I wish that more game developers would make lewd Yuri games like this. Oh well, at least I have Wilting Amaranth” to enjoy for now.

“The Wilting Amaranth” offers about three to five hours of gameplay, and considering the game’s low price, that’s a pretty good deal.
