I am more than delighted over the fact that the very first episode of Ash vs Evil Dead will air on Halloween this year (October 31st) via Starz, because when I watched the Comic-Con 2015 trailer, I got super excited to see Bruce Campbell in-action again. There´s more awesome news to be told though, as it´s now official that each Ash vs Evil Dead episode will be 30 minutes long (there will be 10 episodes in total for season 1).

Episode 1 of Ash vs Evil dead tv will air on October the 1st.

I´m also really hyped over the epic crew behind the Ash vs Evil Dead TV-show (as listed down below). I mean you got the beautiful and talented Dana Delorenzo (Workaholics, Californication, Barely Famous), the super awesome Jill Marie (Sleepy Hollow, Girlfriends, American Horror Story), the warrior Princess Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Spartacus: Blood and Sand), Ray Santiago (NCIS: Los Angeles, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Raising Hope) and of course Mr. Bruce Campbell.

Bruce Campbell still has what it takes to play Ash.

That´s freaking awesome of course (with no doubt), but I think I also heard something about a new Evil Dead movie as well? (Sam Raimi “might” have hinted us about a new Evil Dead movie during his appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con). I really hope that´s true, as I (we) have been waiting such a long time for Evil Dead 4 to happen. Well, at least I hope that the movie in question is Evil Dead 4 (the plot is said to take place in modern times). Time will tell I guess, as for Ash vs Evil Dead. I can´t wait to watch the very first episode on Halloween!

Bruce Campbell might (The Evil Dead 1, 2, 3, Maniac Cop 1 and 2 with many more) not be a A-class actor (or even a super famous actor, for that matter), but to me, that doesn´t matter all that much. Because Bruce has been my idol ever since I saw the very first “Evil Dead” movie in the early 90s. And back when Evil Dead 1 were released (1981), it was pretty rare to see a mix of horror and comedy, but as we all know (if you´re a fan of the Evil Dead series), after “Army of Darkness” (Evil Dead III, which was released 1993).

It would take over 20 years before we would get to see another Evil Dead movie (in this case, a re-make of the original movie).

More Evil Dead to the people!

However, the 2013 edition of “Evil Dead” was not directed by Sam Raimi (the original director), nope, because it was directed Fede Alvarez. And that movie turned out pretty bad in the end (6.5/10 on Imdb). There´s hope, because Mr. Bruce Campbell spoke up about an “Evil Dead” TV-series just recently (when he spoke to James Hibberd from Entertainment Weekly).

Anyhow, this is what Bruce Campbell told Entertainment Weekly about “Ash Vs Evil Dead”:

“Ash has survivor’s guilt. You could have a [field day] with his PTSD. He’s a war vet. He doesn’t want to talk about it, and he’ll lie about that stump on his hand to impress the ladies. That’s what I look forward to playing – a guy with horrible flaws. In Army of Darkness he can’t memorize three words, and he’s responsible for the death of a hundred people – this is your lead character!”

“We realized if we made another movie, frankly, it would probably be too expensive, but in the format of a TV show, we could give people exactly what they wanted and expand the character and story even more. And we never burned Evil Dead as a franchise out – it’s not like we did 13 of these movies. So we felt like, what the heck, let’s give it a try.” – Bruce Campbell
